Beautiful day here in sunny Essex, like you Rusty I love being near the river and sea. I had a nice stroll along the sea wall with the dog who's still looking lovely from his trip to the poodle parlour. Have a great day everyone and I hope the sun shines for you. Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"! :whistle:0

Good Morning! It's a lovely day here too, but a bit breezy so should keep us cool (& dry MIL's laundry)
I realised this morning that I forgot my manners in all the excitement of yesterday.
Sorry ( :j:T) <
This was me on Saturday.
Thank you PepPop for my lovely summery card - a very pretty picture.
Thank you Wifey for the brochure you sent - not had time to look yet!0 -
oooh Rusty 60th Survival ki is fab!!! just the thing I was after!! can you just tell me what comments you put on the notebook, the Rubiks cube and matchsticks please? off to create now...
Rubiks cube was actually a bar box (the freebies advertisement boxes which I turned inside out and coloured each side just one colour) then it was for the mentally infirm I think it said? but could say something like to keep the brain active?
The matchsticks are to prevent you from falling asleep every afternoon
Notebook - Write everything down so you can't forget (its a memory aide) and I did add a pen with it
Hope that helps...
I need to be making cards but I really can't be bothered. I am hot, and need to pick DD up in about an hour, then busy this afternoon! think I will unplug the phone and just chill!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

sorry to be off topic but I need to make up a 60th birthday hamper for my friend to give to her stepdad and wondered if anyone could give me any ideas of what to put in it!! Or anything I could 'make' - she wants to spend up to £20! She's already given me a 60 slogan t-shirt and some sweets that look like pills!
I seem to remember someone doing a load of things which I think were for a 40th one but maybe could be adapted for 60th? but can't remember who did it can anyone remind me please - have been having a look on blogs but can't find it now! Thanks in advance if anyone can help me please - gotta have it made for weds and hoping to pop to shops tomorrow if I can!
night night! x
Popkins, I did a 40th birthday one for my daughter. Rusty gave me the link to hers and I based it on what she had done although some of mine are obviously for ladies (e.g. magic pants). I had some suggestions from other girls on here too. Here are most of them
Plaster – To help you to heal those little hurts
Gum – To help you chew over the difficult questions
Eraser –to remind you that everyone makes mistakes once in a while.
Rubber Band – To remind you to be flexible
Paper clip - To keep things together when they seem to be falling apart
Tissue- To dry tears, yours and theirs
Pain killer- to deal with those little headaches
Tea bag- to help you chill out when you are in hot water!
Crayon- to add a little colour to a dull day
Penny- for your thoughts
Sugar- To remind you to say sweet in such a difficult job
Hand wipe- for those sticky little fingers!
Band-Aid: For when things get a little rough.
Bath Salts: "To take you away." You deserve a quiet break.
Button: To remind you that some things are best left unsaid
Crayon - to color your day bright and cheerful.
Candle - for when you are up late grading papers.
Ear Plugs - when you just can't take anymore.
Eraser - to remind you everyone makes mistakes and they can be erased.
Flower seeds: to remind you that every day you are planting seeds for the future
Hugs and Kisses - for when you need a hug.
Jewel - because you are so precious.
Lifesaver: For when you've had one of those days.
Marbles - to replace the ones you've lost.
Mint - to remind you that you are worth a "mint".
Mounds Bar - for the mounds of confidence you give your students.
Paperclip - to hold it all together.
Peanuts: To get a little nutty.
Puzzle Piece - without you the class wouldn't be complete.
Rubber band - to remind you to be flexible.
Shiny Penny - to remind you, each will shine in their own special way.
Sponge: To soak up the overflow, when your brain is too full.
Starburst - to give you a "burst" of energy when you need it.
Tissues - to wipe away the tears...yours and theirs.
They wont all be suitable but you could adapt any that you think might. Blue smarties can be Viagra. Can't think of any more, brain not in gear this morning!
Hi everyone else. Hope all is well with you and you've still got this glorious weather. I've got some catching up to do this morning after a lazy weekend. First load of washing is on the line. Later I'll try to blog the swap card I sent to Craftygranny, she should have received it today. I've got a list of challenges that I could enter but don't feel like cooping myself up in a hot loft room when the weather's so nice.
Have a good day all.
P.S. Giggle - yes the thread looks different. I've just noticed a message at the top that says New Look Forum - Read This. I'm off to have a read but I don't really like the new look.0 -
