Rainmac Have a fab afternoon tea with your Mum and Dad. Aww I bet she was thrilled to bits when she opened her pressies, you are always so thoughtful with what you make for her. Mmmm homemade scones and jam and meringues sounds wonderfully scrummy to me. Could you pop my scones in the freezer and I will collect them on my way past in about 3 weeks on the way down to Swindon :D lol

Happy Afternoon tea to Rainmacs Mum & Dad & family xx

They forgot to remove them when they'd finished stabbing me in the back. :D

Never mind eh - onwards and upwards.

DTB thats bl**dy awful but you just may sit there very soon with a smug smile when the other person falls flat on their face. They've missed out on a brilliant opportunity by not choosing you. My dad had a pretty wise saying 'Every dog will have its day' You will, for sure, pretty soon. Just remember to smile sweetly! :D

It happened to me a few years ago, I have the knowledge and the contacts and she had the long legs, blonde hair, large b**bs and an air brain. (I worked in a testosterone filled environment) They had the cheek to tell her that I would be happy to give her ALL the help she needed. Yeah, Hell would freeze over first, I left soon after and she followed a few months later. I got the best job I've ever had and took a huge drop in salary but I've never been happier.

DTB - I'm really sorry to hear the outcome, sending you hugs and wondered if the following would help a bit.

Would somebody mind jumping down on the forky end while I stand on the handle. I could try a new dive I've not quite perfected where I could dive up into that yummy cake. You first though, DTB

Well I was very naughty last night - OH went out so I ended up spending - it felt good I haven't had a blow out for a while. I ordered a few paper pads, some sugar nellie stamps and some of the new cc designs stamps - can't wait for it all to arrive!!! I still haven't ordered any of the new MME papers though - I'm waiting for them to be on offer somewhere!

OAP - what a nightmare - all that varnish everywhere!!!

Rainmac - hope you have a fab day - your afternoon tea sounds lovely - I love scones!!!

Marg - congrats on your premium bond win - I haven't had a win on them for ages!!!

Pointofnoreturn - your door hangers are fantastic - I love that strawberry fabric!

Paddingtondoo - your music card is fab - I love how you've used the two images on the same card!

Jowri - glad to hear your DH's op went well!!

Hey ladies! Sorry I've been a bit awol latley been doing the whole "feel sorry for myself" routine. I'm back to work in a week or two (still waiting on start date) and I'm not back to my usual self, I used to be happy all the time and I would be the one to confront the rude customers and help a door man throw them out but now I just feel like I couldn't be bothered, that and before my pregnancy I was a size 8 now im going back as a 14 (I was only a 10/small 12 while pregnant, just got a bit lazy and greedy since having little miss!)
I decided to treat myself yesterday got a hair cut and color, looks like a strimmer has been to my hair and instead of the color going from red to mid brown it's more of a midnight black! But apparently looks nice. On the plus side I have some Gok Wan fatpants to try on!

Lyndach, I hope the package thats on its way to you lifts your spirits a smidge. (Yup! finally managed to get it to the PO)

Thanks everyone especially for the choccy cake. That went down a storm with the wine and chocolate.

Sadly, I donl't even want to play with the spendy elves - feeling a bit sorry for myself but I'm sure I'll snap out of it soon. I just about managed to make it through the working day without cracking up - got the news around 9.30 so it was tough. The added complication is that the person who has got the job is one of my best friends - I hold no animosity against her whatsoever but its ben difficult to remember that she has every right to be pleased and I can't do my normal slagging off whilst she is around.

The people who have stabbed me in my back are the management team, numerous reasons but top 2 are that I was encouraged to apply for the role by the department head. There was one aspect of the job description that I've not had much opportunity to develop in and he said absolutely not to worry about that - it could be dealt with and wouldn't be held against me. Guess what the main reason given for me not getting the job was!
Secondly, the succesful applicant has very little experience of managing lots of people and I have more - when I queried that I was told that they were relying on me to act as the rock of the team - holding it together whilst she did more 'visionary' stuff. So basically, if I weren't there or the person doing my job was rubbish, they would have had to give the job to me but now they're expecting me to take on more to help her out. Again, tricky because she's a good friend.

The related worriies are that my existing boss leaves next week but my friend is now on holiday so they've had 2 and a half hour handover process. Which is nowhere near enough especially as we also lost the manager one step up yesterday and he's not being replaced. So my friend has been dropped in the deep end. Finally, I know this has turned into a bit of a rant, we're now probaby going to lose our most experienced technical member of staff as there is no opportunity to move up within the team.
    WE'RE ALL DOOMED!!!!!!

On the plus side, despite saying I didn't want to play with the spendy elves, I did spend £25 on ribbon at Costco yesterday and now have 250 yards of the stuff! Oopsy.

Better crack on -- may get to do some making later. Have a house and garden to tidy first.

I need a cleaner (was going to get one if I got the promotion) so am now looking at new ways to fund what I think may be essential if I am to remain vaguely sane.
