Making cards - Ideas for beginners (part 4)

Yay, the smell has almost gone from the sun room, I can sit here and 'poot without feel sick and getting high :j. The steps are all but finished, the shuttering will come away over the weekend and if that causes any minor damage DS will put it right. Just the floor to do now, probably a bigger job but not sure when DS can fit us in. He didn't have any work lined up this week, that's why he did the steps. Our jobs are always put back in favour of other customers even though we pay him
. Wont know if the computer is going to behave until DS has completely finished with the steps then the desk can be moved back. Can now get wireless internet on laptop but I don't like using it, much prefer this old monster. I like a proper keyboard and mouse!
Being unable to sit and use the computer for as long as I normally do had it's advantages, I have about four cards half finished so will hopefully get them finished over the weekend and blogged, maybe even find some challenges for them.
Lots of pages again so I'll do my best.
flourgirl Glad you enjoyed your few days away. I like my comfort too much so I couldn't be doing with cold nights, I need my leccy blanket!
Glittermum Your never ending card is amazing. I've commented on your blog.
mumoffour Hope everything went well for your DS today.
dawnteabag Sorry you didn't get the job. Probably for the best considering your back stabbing colleagues. I worked with a right nasty cow once (who was hopeless at the job anyway but it was amazing how the bosses lowered the standards expected after she came), put up with her for six years and then admitted defeat, I couldn't work with her any longer so I left. Have a good spend up!
ScattyJan Sorry the house viewing didn't go as you'd hoped. There is one out there waiting for you, you'll know it when you see it and if it's meant to be you'll get it!
Lyndach So sorry you're feeling down. I was like that a couple of months ago, came over me suddenly, lasted a couple of weeks and then disappeared. I hope you're back to your usual happy self soon. Your hair cut and colour is a good place to start.
RustyFlange Sorry to hear of your family row, hope things sort themselves out soon and everyone gets back to being friendly.
OAP1945 Oops! Glad you got it all up even though it was hard work. At least it wasn't paint on carpet like my son did a few weeks ago - brand new tin of emulsion, lid came off and spilled on hall carpet, then the dozey twit suck it up with the Vax .
Well, that was a mammoth post. I cheated and had a second browser open so I could see the last few pages, my memory isn't that good :rotfl: .
I hope I've covered everyone. Have done a blog hop and commented. Thinking about bed now!0 -
Hello there night owls..
I was so shattered today after all the work in the garden yesterday, it was a relief that it wasn't that good weatherwise today..
I sat and actually made three cards today.. 2 fathers day cards and a wed anniversary one
Not gone thru all the thread as I had hoped, only skimmed thru again, but I have got a few things remembered..
I have blog hopped though and put comments, I think I am up to date with those..
Skiergirl Hope you manage to beat the throngs and get to Hobbycraft in time and are successful.. surprised you don't camp out over night!!!
DTB Sorry you didn't get the job, I am sure something better will come along, what's meant to be and all that..
Lyndach Hope your day back at work goes well. It is so difficult after having a baby to return and it hits your confidence, but sometimes it is just the thoughts and when you get there it's not so bad.. hugs..
Rusty Sorry about family rows, hope you take care of yourself.. don't over do it.. although it is nice to have something nice to focus on.. bet DD has a great party..
Flourgirl Welcome back.. glad you had a good break..
Ali b & Tiredmom Hope you both have fab times..:D
Mom of 4 Glad DS managed his exam, that is really good. Does he have any more to look forward to?
Oap Sorry to read about the varnish tragedy.. how annoying.. I bet you both sleep well tonight after your exercise..
Padster Congratulations on your win..I think we should all do the lottery this week end, there have been a number of winners lately and maybe the good luck will rub off.
I must say I really laughed when you said to DTB that Oap and Mr Oap would be over to help clean the mess.. it is going to be one of those things that will have me smiling now and again for a day or two.. :laugh:Self imposed crafty stash ban: started again 22/8/10 1 whole month stash free!

Just signing on for the night shift! It's taken me a while to catch up & I've only been missing since lunchtime!
Rusty - no bagsealer here - sorry! Families! At least you can choose your friends, sorry about your row, hope all is made up again soon. I'm sure DD will have a super party, don't make yourself poorly with it.
Ali. B - I always feel like that before a holiday! Is it 'cos we're Taureans? Hope you have a lovely time.
Tired Mum - Hope your caravan break is warmer than flourgirls was & you have fun.
Glittermum - thanks for info about lettering on your card -I'll look out for some.
OAP - Glad you managed to get it cleaned up. What a shock! such tricky stuff to deal with.
Lyndach - sorry you are feeling down - good idea to cheer yourself up with a hair do. Perhaps your joy of life will come back once you get back to work rather than waiting for a date to go back which must be hard.
Scatty Jan - Hope you find a nice house soon - I think with houses, you just 'know' when it's the right one for you.
Tomsmum - glad your job is almost finished and smell gone. I also prefer 'proper' PC but laptop means I can have one eye on TV.
Well done on your challenge wins Padster
I had a little Premium Bond win today to add to the run of good luck on here!0 -
Marg What is that red fist with a thumb pointing down above your post? Not seen one of those before..??
Thrifty Hope you got on ok with your doc today.
Rainmac Don't worry re leaving me off list on here.. no problemo as they say..
Tomsmom Glad your steps are finished.. hoorah!!
Wishfulcomper Hope your op went well today and you are not in too much pain..
Mumof4 I read one of your last posts in more detail and realise your DS has got another exam soon, I think and the rest next year.. I hope I am answering my last question posted earlier.. I missed the full details of posts cos I only skimmed.. that'll teach me..Self imposed crafty stash ban: started again 22/8/10 1 whole month stash free!

Good Luck Hassy!
The red fist was a mistake - I'm using the laptop which is a bit unpredictable - they are under the box where you type your reply I moved it when I edited to add something.0 -
OAP, sounds like a bit of a mess, glad your OH helped to clear it up x
Flourgirl, no problem about the swap, sounds like you've found your own swap partner in OAP! Thank you for the comments on my seed packet, it was for my mum an she loved it, her and my boys are going to have a sunflower growing competition
DTB, so sorry you didn't get the job, hope you've bought a few nice things to cheer yourself up
I went for an interview once at the Open University and was thoroughly grilled by a panel of 4 people for 2 hours, it was awful. I came straight home and within 20 minutes of being home I got a phonecall from the OU saying I hadn't got the job. When I asked for some feedback I was told the job was given to the lady who was doing the job already as a temporary member of staff. My interview was just a formality they had to go through (equal opps my bum!) but knew who was going to be offered the job. I was so angry, what a waste of 2 hours and all the time beforehand prepping for it
Well it was my mum's birthday on Thursday and I met her and my dad for coffee and cake at a garden centre, she loved her pressies. I spent yesterday making jam - never done it before but I think it's ok? Also made mini meringues. Need to bake some scones this morning and then load it all up and take it to mum & dad's for afternoon tea. Hope it's all edibleWe're then going to have a chinese takeaway for dinner yum yum
 If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
rainmac - Good Luck with your lottery ticket! Hope your Mum has a wonderful birthday party.0

Marg Congratulations on your win :j last time you won on the PB so did I mmmm not heard anything yet
Padster Congratulatons to you on your win :j
OAP What a nightmare:eek: might have been better on a carpet, at least you could have just rolled it up and claimed on the Insurance!! My DH dropped a tin of gloss paint once from the top of a ladder when he was painting the eaves  we had to turn over all the flagstones on the path!!
I would be delighted to be your swap partner for this months CP Swap :A
Rainmac Willow, Mum and I are growing sunflowers but mine are weaklings:( I decided to grow them round the bottom of the Silver birch tree so I could tie them up when they grew, plus the birds love to sit in that tree. Maybe its too dry, well we will see what happens. I do have flowers on my cherry tomatoes though:D0
