Morning everyone. Hope you're all well. I'm getting ready to take the kids skating along the seafront this morning - I've been up since silly o'clock, so perhaps there's something in the air? I didn't come on here, I was a good girl instead and did my ironing and dusting, just need to vacuum now and I'm done for the day.

Hassy & PONR - LOL or should that be LMAO, nice to have a giggle 1st thing

    Jowri - Hello and welcome

Tired Mom - sorry you've had another bad night. Why is it that kids are always ill at night?? Hope you manage to get some rest today.x

Meant to say WBR I lived in Eastbourne for about 4 months when I left school, frighteningly 20 years ago. I worked at the Cavendish Hotel and lived in a B&B on Pevensey Road. We used to go to a nightclub on the end of the pier, think it was called Roxy or something like that. We were there in the bad storms and I remember us being evacuated out of the nightclub as the pier was swaying so badly. Enjoy the rollerskating.

    Thnak you Tired Mum,,

you could adopt Grandad but unfortunately he is not with us anymore I think thats why I started card making, it was sat in the cupboard doing nothing, I've just discovered the embossing side of it and love the effect it gives,

Any way I'm Jo married with 2 children age 6 and 8 I enjoy all crafts ( as dh rolled his eyes when I announced I was going to start card making) I have also dabbled in jewellery making and cross stitch, but have to say I'm really enjoying the card making its nice to give something you have personally made,
    take care

Why is that the best grandads and nannys are always those not with us anymore. I think doing the card making with something he has given you is lovely though.

Most of us on here seem to have wonderful OH's when it comes to stash or we try and time deliveries for when they are out!

I agree entirely giving something that has taken time to make is worth so much more than anything that can be bought in a shop. If you have read back through the threads you will see that Craftygranny's Princess K has exactly the right attitude when it comes to cards!

Off to try and do some accounts, but first another coffee .......

Yep was called Roxy for a short while. It's now Atlantis. Never really went there much tbh - used to occasionally hangout in TJ's & Kings but most weekends went clubbing in Brighton.

Waiting for DD to get ready - I think it's a fashion show were going! She's changed her outfit 3 times and still hasn't got a jacket, as apparently it's not cold out! At this rate it will be too late to do anything!

Hi! Jo (jowri) welcome to the nicest, friendliest and helpful place there is.

If you're stuck at anytime or need help finding (or buying!!) anything just drop a post in here.

If you need a rant, we listen. If someone has ruffled your feathers then we will smooth them. If you need a hug then we'll send 'em. If you need a laugh I can be relied upon to supply it! :D I am the All England and Essex Cake Diving champion. My motto: See Cake - Dive in. A swimming cozzie for every occasion!

Was just having a nosey on the crafting for christmas thread, I was waiting for a spreadsheet to print out honest.

Someone had posted this link to their blog where they have done a tutorial for some superb felt flowers. I think they would look great on cards as well especially the flatter pansy style one. If anyone is interested they are here

    Back to it .....

AngelCrafts Do you know the dates of the show in the SECC in October? Yay I missed the last one and didn't realise there is another one this year.

Off to tidy up. I've got the day off today cos OH is getting a new piano delivered today. He'd better not complain about me and my crafty spending anymore let me tell you :D Now where did I put those spendy elves...
  • Tired Mom – so sorry your little one is poorly. (((Hugs))) for your lack of sleep. I can remember being so tired once with ds that I fell asleep pushing his pram, only for a second, scary stuff

  • Morning!!

Glad my 'LMAO' gave a few of you an early morning laugh!!!!

Welcome to jowri and any other newbie I have missed!!

Well have to sing the praises of Oyster Stamps - what a fab company they are. I ordered my Distress Inks yesterday afternoon and they are with me this morning. The postage alone cost Oyster £1.72 and because they are giving free postage this month it cost me nothing. I am very happy with the service and even happier to get the inks for £3 each!! They were being sold for a minimum of £4.70 at the Ally Pally last weekend!!!!!

Sun is shining again today although it does look cold!!!!!

Hope everyone is ok today x
