Hi all, well caught up on 5 pages since Fri - but couldnt find a pen to write down notes so ((hugs)) to those who need them. Congrats to DTB & son and anyone else who did the sports relief mile.

Spotted some lovely makes as well, but will do a proper blog hop later & leave comments.

Well survived Harrogate- OMG it is a bit of a bun fight though!! Certain old ladies can be ruthless!!! Spent a small fortune and must remember to get things when I see them as saw a cute robot stamp set but then couldnt remember which stall - totally stressed out by the end so will search on line. My hubby was a very good bag carrier though!! Anyway, made a weekend of it and stayed over and then had a lovely trip to Skipton today - and then home for tea at MIL's - result!!
  • Well done dawnteabag you and your son did really well!

Congratlations to paddingtondoo on your comp win

Lucky Tiny getting your own room, how lovely being able to shut yourself away from it all and craft – I can dream.

Got all excited this morning, thought I would be able to get craft tv on our television. On the website it gives a number for sky or freeview. Anyway tried to access it via the freeview in our dvd recorder but it wont let me select it, such is life.

Hope everone has enjoyed their weekend, weather has really been beautiful here today. We have had a bit of a quiet one today (well as quiet as it gets woth 2 noisy little monkeys in the house) however DH not well. He thinks he has kidney stones so has had to go to see an out of hours doctor today as he is in so much pain. Hope they dont end up sending him to hospital as I might not see him again until midnight!

I've been busy making some Easter gifts this afternoon, which I've just blooged, hope they're ok and not too plain looking?

Anyway, enough from me, hope you all have a good forthcoming week.

Me, I'm having to psyche myself up for my son going to Iceland with college on 31st March  I'll be heartbroken and worried sick while he's away there! lol

Hello - my plan for this afternoon has not gone well - had some distressing news at lunchtime. My ex-BIL ("& sons" uncle) committed suicide yesterday. He was only 28. Had been estranged from the rest of my ex's family for a while.
So "&son" is back with me whilst his Dad deals with it all - I guess he's next of kin as their Mum and Dad both died young.
Have no idea what to say to my boy. He knows that he is dead in 'an accident'. The poor little thing has had a lot to deal with in the last month - fisrst his great-nan died, then we witnessed the aftermath of a RTA and now this. Think I'd better ring school tomorrow and give them a heads-up in case it starts to take its toll.
So we're upstairs crafting as therapy and I'm hoping I'll be able to get him to open up about what he has learned whilst with his Dad today

So sorry to hear your news, I think you should just leave it with & son and continue to say it was an accident as he is still very young to understand. That is now 4 of us with deaths in a week :(

Just wanted to say very well done on your run! congrats to you both!!

Craftyjuju I am about to send you a pm, RE NEC!

Just got back in from a trip out with my MIL, this is the one who never bothers or makes an effort but she picked us up, took us out to lunch then we went to the beach and played at the park, my only quibble is that she arranged to meet her friend there which meant she wasn't spending time with her grandkids like originally planned!! I was grateful for the break from cooking and the time out though :D I will try and catch up with blogs shortly!

Choccy I want something from pink Gem but not sure if to leave an order til after the NEC? I know they were there in November ..... Tell you what, leave it with me I am going to send them an email and ask!! :D

So sorry to hear such news, (((hugs for you and & son))) I think Rusty is right, let '&son' lead on the basis of least said soonest mended - he may well think it was an RTA having recently seen one.....

How sad for you all, DTB but a good idea to craft with &son as you may find that he may ask questions when his mind is at rest. Don't be surprised. I've had some corkers from my grandaughters especially when their Mum wasn't around so no pressure on them. Huge hugs to you both.

Hmm it' a tricky one. The problem is it was a very public death so there is a chance that he would find it out from other sources. The crafting didn't go well - he got frustrated, stomped around and then went into his room and started hitting things. Have tried to talk to him but he's having none of it so have left him to his own devices for a while.
