    Hi ladies
I have just bought a bigshot off ebay. It has been used and has come with embossing plates and 4 cutting dies. one of the dies is set into a sponge type block 2 are set onto spongy bases, so i'm ok with these, there is also a brass type stencil entitled friends, I assume i need to buy something else to use with this? my local craft shop only stocks cuttlebug so i carn't ask there. Can any of you bigshot lovers put me right please?

    thanks

The friends stencil thingy Is it in a kind of plastic wallet . Sounds like an embossing folder they used to do small ones like that . Lisa the craft fairy is your lady for the answer she knows a lot. lol

  • Happy Birthday to Twinklestar, hope you have had a lovely day as well!

KMS - good luck with the slimming club.
Rusty - hope your mouth feels better soon, I hate dentists, feel sick at the thought of going to one! Well done on selling your stamps, nice amount to make from a clearout!!

Hogshead - I found the other magazine with owls in it was Simply Cards & Papercraft 72 ( http://www.practicalpublishing.co.uk/shop/product299.html ) but you can also buy those papers as a download from PolkaDoodles ( http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/index.php?cPath=432 )

I had a nice time at the show on Sunday, although it was busy and there were a few people who pushed in front of me whilst I was watching demos. I bought a brayer, big and juicy and a clarity stamp - I think Barbara Gray does some stunning things so I though I'd give it a go. It's harder than she makes it look! Don't think I'll be putting the first attempts on a card, but at least my daughter appreciates my attempts - she likes to have cards and things I make.

You all do talk a lot on this thread! It is hard to keep up.

There were plenty of Zoomers there when I went in June or whenever it was - the stalls are pretty small though so you'll need to sharpen your elbows as well :rotfl: Have put the date in my diary may very well join you if OH will child sit :D I can wander along behind in the path you cut through the great unstashed :rotfl::rotfl:
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p
  • Rusty sending you hugs, i know how you feel i was at the dentist on friday and missed out on my lunch out. great news re your stamps, i am thinking of selling some of mine to get more pennies as i am signing up to be an SU demo next month

    hi
if you have the big platform, all you need to do is put your paper/card in the folder. place the folder inbetween 2 cutting plates. then place this 'sandwich' on your platform and run it through the machine. have fun playing with your new toy :)

Hahahaha - you really have to rummage around the clearance sections sometimes ([STRIKE]all the time[/STRIKE]!) - Joann's clearance is cheaper I find! I'm off there today for a look as not sure if you know but they accept Michaels vouchers and vice versa!!! Joann's have less restrictions on what you can buy with the vouchers though!!! When is it you are going to Vegas - is it October??

Happy Birthday to Tired Mom - hope you had a fab day x

PONR, I am loving reading about all your bargain finds, I think you could write a book on where to go and what to look for ;)

Craftygranny, take the zoomer, there were lots when we went to the NEC in March, love Padster's idea of following behind you after you've cleared the way :D
