  • I've only done a bit of decoupage (and then only with kits) and have always use sticky fixers to separate my layers. Have read loads about silicon glue and finally bought some. Is it my glue or is it always that 'dry' in appearance?

Did a few about 5 hours ago and it doesn't appear to have stuck :( and just looks awful. I might be being impatient however I've bought three tubes and don't want to waste them!:money:

    Any advice?
  • :j:j:j Yay at last after many hours of reading I am finally up to date, just in time for going to the caravan again at the weekend :rotfl:.

Think I'd better do my next post over a few posts otherwise I'm bound to find I lose them.

PONR - Hope your foot eases up for you abit, could you get some ibuprofen gel to rub on it. Super news about your aunt. Very jealous of your shopping trips.

Tomsmom - Great news about your OH.

Marg - I'm with you on using the computer because of appauling writing. For years I had to write memos completely in block capitals and it now means I can only write in block capital unless I really think about it and then my writing looks like a 12 year olds.

Rainmac - Hope your OH is ok after his accident, it really must have shaken him up but at least he wasn't hurt. Was it the followers of Bros that used to attache Grolsch stoppers to their laces?

Wifey - Your holiday next year sounds super. Can I please ask what the insect is? Thanks for the link for the Bo Bunny papers, it is the Dot one in the Noel range that I am after and they stock it.

Scatty - Good luck with the house move.

Right going to post this before I lose it.

CT - Glad you enjoyed Ironbridge. I haven't been since I was a child but it isn't that far from the caravan. We are going on the 25th Sept as they have festival type day and then once it is dark the bridge will be illuminated and they will have fireworks.

Could you please post a pic of the stamp you got as to what the design you have looks like and where you got it from please.

Fifi - Sweet Valley High, they seemed so risque then but now it would probably be very normal life.

Gemma - So pleased you are now a lady of leisure

Flourgirl - How is your toe doing? Arnica is brilliant for that sort of thing.

    Posting again.

  • Happy birthday Dragonllew! :bdaycake:

Hi guys, sorry I haven't been around much - my work load has doubled since my promotion so i've been stupidly busy! I've off to Spain on Monday which will be a much needed holiday though i've come down with tonsillitis

I'm loving all the reminiscing at the moment lol. I was obsessed with Backstreet Boys growing up :p We went to see them in concert and my brother was only young so ended up sleeping across all our seats bless him.

I've uploaded a photo of my latest card to the latest place. Wish me luck too as i've applied for the Creative Craft World DT call...

WBR - Thanks for sorting out the parcel, please let me know the total.

Jazabelle - Sorry to hear the news re the DLA it really does seem to be the outcome depends on the way the wind is blowing.

Marg - Really sorry to read about Sam.

Elysia - I've popped into the QVC in Shrewsbury a number of times as it is close to the caravan. I bought a few bits there last time I went but must admit I usually find them very overpriced expecially when you can't see what is in the pack.

Craftgranny - Lovely news about becoming a Grandma again, what is the news on your son with the heart problem?

BunBun - I remember reading somewhere that if you grease the mould with trex and then dust with flour that helps the cake to release.

KMS - Good luck with your house appeal. When do you get your Thyroid results, I have an underactive thyroid but know it can take a long time to finally be detected. I too would be interested in the Secret Santa.

Sadly I used to have the leather laces around my wrists as well. Gosh that could be rather misconstrued couldn't it. I also happen to share my birthday with him!

Ironbridge was fab, and will definitely be going back as we didn't make it to all the museums that are included in the price of the passport ticket we got. Thought it was a fab price, as for about £60 we bought the passport ticket for 4 of us and it is valid for a whole year, and you can go as many times as you like in that year.

Also managed to find a couple of home bargain stores, so is definitely another reason to go back :D. I just love that shop!

The stamp I bought in the end for the back of my cards was from this seller, as recommended to me by PONR. I saw a stamp she had used on the back of a card she had sent me and really liked the style. PONR ordered the cat one, but I wanted to be different so asked for a specific stamp to be made, and they agreed. My picture is the butterfly, and says 'Handcrafted by Caroline' with my email address only. Have to say I am really impressed by the quality of the stamp and how quickly it was delivered to me. Ordered 5pm on Monday night and it was here by 11am on Wednesday.

I've stamped a couple, but as I have really shaky hands and quite sore hands with ezcma at the moment, I need to do a lot of practice, or get someone else to do it.:o

Fifi Folle - Yes, I'm going to Harrogate, probably Saturday afternoon, will have to get wrapped up well to buffer against all those sharpened elbows, it can be hard work getting near the stalls!

Wifey - re blog comments - Ouch! yes the saddles! How do they balance on those knife edge tyres too & don't fall off when they all bunch together - I can just about manage if I have the whole road to wobble in - I quite fancy a tricycle.
