Marg he desperately needs another heart transplant, he is only 25 and had his first transplant at 20
but has so many other problems at the moment even if one came available I doubt if they would offer it to him. He is in intensive care at the moment on dialysis, 6hours on 6 off. My niece has been given a flat in the grounds of Papworth so she can be close by him and my sister and other niece have gone for the weekend. Its so tiring travelling from Doncaster to Cambridge every day. He has the top man in Europe looking after him and we hope and pray he will do everything he can. You know he is such a good lad, never smoked or drank or ben in any kind of trouble...... lifes a B!tch sometimes.
Flourgirl - I'm so very sorry to hear that it's not a better situation - I was hoping that a miracle had happened while I was away - I'll continue to pray & keep him in my thoughts. Huge ((((hugs)))) for you all.0 -
Rusty - we went to Tenerife - we usually go in Feb with a couple of friends - the weather was better than usual but we weren't:rotfl: At first we thought the bug was in the hotel as loads of people had it & our friends kept saying "If this was in Blackpool they'd be closed down for a mega clean" but it seems it was all over the South of the island and, of course, it's Spain, not the UK! Luckily, our friends didn't get it but there were elderly people there & babies so it was quite worrying that the tour operator hadn't warned us.
Thank you for asking.0 -

) .... Some of you may remember my first post on this thread where I was at the end of my tether, needing a new interest to keep me sane. To cut a very long story short, my ds was finally diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome after years of mental health problems. He left sixth form on dla and I left my job to become his carer. We came to realise that my dh was an undiagnosed Aspergers but nowhere near as severe as my son (explained so many problems / issues in our past / present). Everything was falling on my shoulders to sort out (no help from my family - brother is an alcoholic, Mum is his enabler who felt that I should be sorting out my brother's problems as they were more important than my own family - jeesh, you could make a soap opera out of this :rotfl:)
Moving on - after much fighting and many meetings with doctors, social workers, educational psycholgists, mental health workers I finally managed to get my son referred to the only Autism unit here on the Isle of Man. We went before Xmas and they agreed that he needed support and that he could start attending in the New Year. Since January, I have been fobbed off with various excuses and I found out yesterday that they have no funds to support my son - he is intelligent and high functioning, they only seem to support low functioning individuals with learning disabilities.
I am soooooo angry, I spent yesterday in tears - completely angry, frustrated tears. How dare they just drop him - he is not collateral damage because they have no money. You wouldn't think that in this day and age they could leave someone isolated at home with no support but it seems they can.
I need to think of a plan of action but I am so angry, upset and tired and exhausted fighting by myself that I can't think straight at the moment. If you are still reading, thanks for letting me rant. Am going to go and look at your lovely makes in blogland to make myself feel human again,

What a terrible situation Thrifyscottlass. I work in our local hospital and there are often issuses with funding for drugs (some cost thousands). Most patients just accept that funding has been withdrawn and get on with things (an absolute disgrace in my opinion, there is so much money wasted in the NHS) but a couple in recent months have contacted the local MP and he has contacted the Hospital Trust......funding was immediately reinstated and the patients were treated like royalty. It makes me so angry that those who don't kick up a fuss are just left to deal with their medical conditions so I now advise all patients who's funding has been withdrawn to get in touch with their local councillor/MP and keep fighting, this should not be allowed to happen to you. I wish you the very best of luck for your family, x
Thanks to all for their congratulations on the new baby in the family, they haven't decided on a name yet.0 -

Morning everyone. Just hopped on for a quick catch up and my you've been chatty!!
I've skim read, so will undoubtably miss some one out, so apologies in advance.
Thrifty - so sorry, I too would be mad in your situation. Perhaps, as previously said contact your MP or try the papers. It's not fair or right. xxx
Rusty - congrats on your win
Flourgirl - glad to hear your mum's op went ok, really sorry that the news isn't so good for your nephew.
Tinypablo - congrats on the new arrival.
Tiredmom - re ink for images to be coloured using Promarkers, whatever you do don't use Stazon it will wreck your PM's. I use Whispers permanent ink and have had no problems with smudging or bleeding. I've also used Versafine, but it needs a while to dry. A friend of mine uses Memento(??sp), but I've not used it so can't comment.
I've been blog hopping and have left comments. Of to be a taxi service now for DD & her friends!0 -

I use Stazon with my Promarkers and not had any trouble at all. You can occasionally get abit of bleeding it you go over the ink, but thats it..
Promarkers soak into the paper that you are using. To increase depth of colour you add layer on layer. So obviously if you over wet the ink it will bleed through. To minimize this i do a layer ,let it dry. add another layer etc. Oh and stay inside the linesfurrypig says:my name is Choccy and I am addicted to nose free stamps as I want to save them all and give them noses!!!:rotfl:

Thankyou for all your hugs and good wishes - you are all stars.
Sending hugs back to anyone else out there who needs them - sorry my head is a sieve at the moment and can't remember individual posts. I just need to cool my anger enough so that I can plan my attack campaign but not enough that I just give up.
Possibilities so far are to:
Contact local mp
Letters of complaint to all funding agencies
Local tv / press
Contacting National Autistic Society / disability rights groups
I also need to investigate the legality of the situation as I have written reports stating that ds has socialisation needs that need to be addressed.
Jeez you have to fight for every last scrap of help in this country, what the h*ll do we pay taxes for - oooh rant starting again, must focus, not rant....0
