Thank you for the link PONR, I had a look at my cartridge (genuine) and there it's £28.00 I've always had an HP but the way the one I have now chews up paper is unbelievable. Starting to lean to this Epson.

OAP - Sending hugs, sounds horrible!! xxx

Can I just ask, all of those who are talking about printers and the high cost of refills, have any of you considered a continuous ink supply? We have an epson Stylus RX685 and we use a continuous ink supply which is basically an ink tank next to the printer! ... you just top up the resevoirs then! ours has been on for around a year and still going strong! Link to a company here who sells them but has plenty of info to read about how it works ;) I bunbun also has one ;)

Ali, yep I have seen greenpixey's blog thanks xxx

oap, that sounds nasty, I've had labyrinthitis a couple of times and it was awful, it's also left me with random dizzy spells sometimes (and since the first time I had it I can't sleep on my right side). Please take things easy and look after yourself x

artydoll, hope you've started to feel better x

I've been lazy and been attached to the laptop nearly all day, got to get my bum into gear and get to the supermarket as I've promised my lot a roast for tea.

Did you check out the compatible cartirdge prices as I found these to last for ages and give good colour and much cheaper than the HP ones!!!! My HP printer is an all in one that I got about a year back and it prints quite well. I got it free by earning Amazon vouchers by doing surveys!!!!

  • Right off out now to Sainburys - need to get out as too easy to stay in front of the laptop!!!!

Just bought some of the £10 spa days on Lastminute.com for my sister's birthday. We will go when I get back from the US. Great value and a day out!!

Epson SX515W stylees! How does this printer get on with thicker cardboard? Has anyone put some real heavy duty stuff through it, the refill cartridges are not very expensive unlike my current HP at nearly £20 per colour refill at a local Computer store, which is making lean towards it.

It copes fine with heavy duty card and I've put plastic and ribbon through mine with no problems. You can buy original replacement ink carts cheaply or compatibles for as little as £2, but I'm not sure of the quality of them.

Afternoon ladies - I've got a couple of cards to blog later if I can get round to it - I made them days ago - I am so useless, it takes me ages to make a blog post though!! OH is out later - going to watch Liverpool play - so hopefully I might pull my finger out and do some crafting!

Rusty - I hope that your migraine disappears soon and that your decorating gets finished quickly. I hate having any work done to the house - I hate all the mess!!

Wanna-b-rich - happy birthday to your DD!!!

Rainmac - welcome back!!!! Thanks for all the freebie links!

OAP - I'm glad to hear that you're feeling a bit better!

whats's it like at printing photos? sounds like a good purchase

Rainmac thanks for the freebies especially the cute christmas kitty
Rusty hope your migraine gets better soon, sounds awful

Moopie for a cheap all in one solution to start with, I would advise a beginner to purchase lets make cards magazine as it has card blanks and bits and bobs in (only if you like the designs) then it tells you how to make simple cards out of them in the magazine. It's a good starting point for only £8. I think QVC and create and craft do good kits but sometimes there's far too much stuff in the kits and they cost around £30. How about getting some cardmaking books out of the library? I found the difficult bit when starting was actually designing the card (figuring out which bits go where) - actually it still is! magazines and books can help you with this tricky thing.

Moopie - I've put 300gsm card through mine no probs. I must buy the cheapest ink cartidges going. They are compatibles and only cost 79p each! They are from a company called Buy Tech. The 79p offer isn't always on though, so I buy 15 at a time and stock up.

When I print digi's it copes brilliantly, but I sometimes change the settings to best photo, but that's only when I remember.
