Hi everyone
Im completely new to card making and went to a card workshop at a local craft shop today and made my first 2 cards :j
But ive got a question... where is the best/cheapest place to buy backing papers, card, peel offs and die cut decoupage (can you tell what cards i made today lol) they sold it in the craft shop and I bought a couple of things because id feel bad if i didn'tbut they seemed a bit expensive. I just wondered what internet sites you all usually use for these things?
I know there are some places you can get free papers but I haven't got a printer at the moment so I can't do that unfortunately.
Anyway its nice to meet you all
Hello & Welcome
Not online but 'The Range' stock craft things if you have one near you. Also look if you have a Papermill shop nearby for card.0 -
Hi all, hope everyone is ok. I am very stressed out at the min and could do without doing this seating plan really but there we go that's life. My father in law was admitted into the HDU last night we raced over to see him and got home at 5am. He is very ill in deed. Hubby is back there now and baby is screaming his head off cos of teething. I would love to be there too but the kids can't go i am hoping maybe to go tomorrow or friday.
I want to make a card but it is difficult to know what image to use. I have a few but they are more for say people who are under the weather not seriouly ill and i don't want it to seem like it is blittling it like having one with a bunny on tucked up in bed with a hot water bottle does that make sense or am i thinking too much.
Where is the best place to get card for this seating plan, hubby was going to go to the range or hobbycraft for me but i can't ask him to go this week now. I was thinking whsmiths and what size A3/ A2:)Mummy to 2 wonderful boysWant to be fit for 30 not fat at 30but i want never gets!!!0 -
Louby - sorry to hear about your FIL. I can't help much with the card - maybe staples, but as for size I'm clueless -sorry. How about just a die cut shape with the words printed onto it and then a bit of ribbon to pretty it up - I'll see if I can find an example of what I mean for you. x

Unfortunately there isn't one near me, maybe I should email them and tell them to open one near
louby-lou-lou sounds like you're having a hard time at the moment, sorry I can't help about the seating plan but as for the 'get well' card I think he will appreciate the thought and won't think you're belittling how ill he is at all. Im sure he will be really happy that you've taken the time to make him a card and won't read into the picture too much at all. I understand how you feel though, id be exactly the same I think we can all think too much sometimes xx0 -
kms26 Thanks for the freebie link
Wifey thanks for that - it looks like a brilliant deal and it's the blue onepity I've got one already
moopie
Well done Carmin
Louby Oh that's a shame. Sending you huge hugs - it sounds like you need them. Thinking of you. WH Smiths have packs of black or white A2 card for £9.99 for 15 sheets. Here's the link if you need it.0 -
Also, what printer would be good enough for printing out the pretty back ground papers? If im getting a printer I want to make sure it prints them out really well.
Thanks again!!0 -
Louby - this is the sort of thing that sprang to mind, but obviously with your spin on it.0
