That seems perfectly acceptable to me, but then I've never really experienced that kind of thing so I'm just going on my instinct here0

hi ladies im kinda new to the forum and was looking for somewhere i could post my clothes bargain/gripe so im thinking you wouldnt mind if I post here.
I went out shopping yesterday for white work blouses for my new job, didnt want to pay much money as I will only be wearing them until my uniform is ordered.
Trailed around a few shops, no luck, went in mountain ware house of all places and found exactly what I was looking for, and best of all it was a size 14!!! and it fit perfect! (I am normally a 16/18). It was £14.99 in the sale tho and I really didnt want to pay that much so I grudgingly put it back and went to asda. Found what I was looking for there for £3 in the sale!! Magic, I thought. Until I went in to the changing room...and the 18 was too tight I could barely breath..so was the 20!! I ended up buying a 22 which was a perfect fit...It was a super bargain but I am sooo frustrated with the sizing ive never worn a 20 in my life, let alone a 22!!
Anyway girls, cheap work shirts in asda but at a cost - your self esteem!!
Linda
Asda's sizing in particular I find highly erattic. My gardening dress I can't get into is from asda, and I have a pair of trousers from asda that are at least two sizes smaller than the label says.
OTOH, I find sainsuries very ego building: the trousers in articular are all a size smaller on the label, at least, than they are on my bottom....
My gripe is that I am fairly hourglass, big boobed admittedly, but on the measuring tape not as grievously as to the eye, and yet it seems o me all clothes sizing now are based on a slightly pear shaped ideal, with tops a little smaller than bottoms. My botto and his really reject the notion that I am classically top heavy!0 -

I think I'm going to trust your instinct. Its mainly men, and I have noticed men SAY they prefer savoury food and yet demolish cakes.
edit: I also think men are far less likely to care about old etiquettes.0 -
Totally! If I make say...cheese scones and a cake...despite saying he prefers the scones, my Dad always heads for the cake first!
And totally agree on the etiquettes, most men I know wouldn't even know of such a tradition.
Hm,
I think I shall be utterly disgusting and wear what I wore yesterday again today0 -
Totally agree with the sizing in Sainsburys, I love being a size 10 in there lol!
I find New Look and Miss Selfridge to be pretty stingy though.
Lost - High Tea is something I've only read about in Enid Blyton books, your family must be very posh! I'm sure everyone will love whatever you do it always sounds great.
DB - Sorry you're not feeling up to your appointment and generally not good. (hugs).
Poo update - I really can't work it out. It's worse today so I may stand a chance but after last night's mouse incident (it was also brought back in for the second time) I'm wondering if something has come in and crawled under some furniture and died, that may produce a similar whiff I would imagine?
Going to get DH to help me move the furniture this evening and see.
Another beautiful sunny day here but I'm too tired to contemplate going out until I've had at least one more coffee.
The little darling was up at 4:20 today so DB beat me but only just lol!0 -
Vicki, I was going to say yesterday it could be a mouse? Our wonderful cat bought in a mouse half alive once, and it went under my parents bed and we didn't find it until there was a mystery awful smell in the house. Vile, but could be the cause of your problem!0

Oh gross, I am thinking it must be.0

Oh such a great dress. I'm still jealous!
Will certainly be an incentive to recover, I can't wait to see you in it when you're well again.xx0 -
Vicki, dead things in the house have a particular arid sort of smell. Pretty unmistakable once you've smelt it once. we cal it, I think very aptly..''the smell of death''.
It can be hard to locate other than to a corner of a room. It will get so bad you won't be able to stay the room that its in to look for it, and then it will dissipate and if you haven't found the source you might not for years...so try and find it now while you can!
Daisy, that dress is going to look unbelievably lovely on you when you are healthy! I can't wait to see a picture of you in it then!0
