Not reading anything exciting, lol, some random chick lit I grabbed off the shelf last night. I need to visit the library badly.
(nothing wrong with chick lit, I love it, this one is dire though!)

Ohh Goan, I hope there are going to be photos of these suits!

Definately, Daisy - I might pop them on tomorrow with some other lovely finds.

It's a good day for reading, it's really miserable out there. I've amassed a huge pile to take on my hols and one of my lovely friends has leant my all her Kate Atkinsons. I've read three so far, excellent writer.

They're rather cute, Queenie. I'll have to think carefully what i should wear them with to avoid looking like a granny on acid.
  • Well I've just been for my health assesment and it wasn't all that bad. Funnily enough after all the chat here they measured BMI but the also measure WHR (waist to hip ratio) and it is only a concern if you are high in both categories. My resting heart rate was pretty high which I knew it would but they said it could be up because of the lack of sleep and stress of last night.
  • I picked up a chick lit for 10p at jumble sale a few weeks ago, I was going to read it on the train tomorrow, but I really fancy a crime thriller instead. I need to be in the right mood for chick lit after OD'ing on it when I was younger, it was one of my many forms of escapism, still read the odd one though :)

Goan- not read any of her books *makes note to check her out*
  • Hi everyone

I posted a message on the original fashion chat seeking advice a few weeks ago but didn't get round to looking for replies until now.

@caroline73 and @Tete en L'air and another person (can't find their name now) - I wish I had taken your advice sooner and looked for jeans in Asda or similar. Ended up forking out £25 for black skinny jeans from Asos and they are not that flattering - sort of hipsterish and show off post baby lumpy fat (and I didn't think I had much of it but jeans are obviously determined to show it - why why why?!) but I will make do with them as it is too late to send them back and at least they will make me feel less frumpish when I wear them.

The top/dress that I posted about is just meant to go with tights by the look of it as I don't think it will go with leggings and it looked stupid with the jeans so it may end up on eBay soon.

@Caroline73 - enjoyed looking at your blog - on your 'about me' you said you buy things you like without considering if it suits you or if you have anything to go with it - that's me as well! Love the shoes on your 11 February blog. 19 Januar blog - getting a sweetie bracelet from DH for my 30th birthday - think your one looks really nice with just the heart charm on it - really classy.

Have been out shopping today and am quite excited with my purchases so may post pics or links of them shortly as I just want to share them with someone.
  • Daisy - Jodi Picoult is a very very good read, always well researched :)

    Well done, Nic!

Yep, really good reads, Daisy. I read lots of chick-lit when I was in hospital but I'm more of a thriller, crime or historical mystery reader.
