Hi all, long time lurker, second post on the thread! I have a favour to ask... has anyone, in their travels, tried this on ?

    http://www.newlook.co.uk/1924462/192446249/ProductDetails.aspx

I love the look of it, but as a rather curvy 12-14 (top heavy...) I'm not too sure. I live in Oz so can't try it on and am therefore seeking advice about fit, drape etc from anyone who may have come across it in the recent shopping trips you lot seem to have been on.

Many thanks in advance for any advice!

    Morning all :)

Almo- I haven't personally tried it on, but I've seen it on a couple of girls in various shapes and sizes who work in New Look and to be honest, it looks good on all of them as they've all styled it in different ways and wear it with confidence.
It seems quite a versatile piece to me, although depending on how "top heavy" you are the neckline might be a bit high?

    Morning everyone

I love that dress Almo, not seen it on anyone but would imagine as daisy said, that it would probably suit all shapes and sizes.

Talking about top heavy, I managed to get a new bra at the weekend without too much trouble :j Unlike the last time I lost weight, my bust size doesn't seem to be changing too much (which is a good thing as it's probably my best 'asset' :rotfl:). I took 3 bras into the changing room and the first one fit :D, saved me a lot of time and effort, I was dreading it :(.

Going to have a nice relaxing day today as mother nature is calling . I had planned to do some quite strenuous housework but I've put it off for a couple of days, think I might paint my nails instead, have a bit of a pamper.

    Today's outfit:

New Look turquoise cotton T - (CS, a couple of quid)
    Grey cardigan - (jumble sale - 20p)
    Jeans
    Turquoise necklace
    Gold, black and turquoise bracelet
    Dune perfume
Make up: smokey eyes, No7 foundation, clear lip glaze

I've been up since 6  - spring must have changed my body clock, I love getting up early in the summer. Winter, however, is another matter :o

Packed lunches need doing, I'll be back later for a natter ;)
    :jWeight loss to date 1st 11.5lb :j

Hurrah for new bras :) I've given up and am living in cropped tops!

I've been awake since 5, but only up since 6...seems to be my latest phase. Blah!
  • Hi Almo, I love that dress! I bought the same dress in NL but in a different fabric on Sat and wore it last night. Just a word of warning - it's very short! I'm only 5'2" and with black tights it was just about decent, but considering it was a work event I felt a little bit self-conscious!If you like your legs, go for it! I have no boobs but think it would look better on someone a bit curvier.

Queen re ironing: we iron more in winter than summer....because we don't use central heating unless really forced to, so in winter anything I can iron is ironed. I enjoy ironing, it smells good, its relaxing its warm.

I tend to iron in bathces because of the palava of getting out the ironing board etc. Twice a week is enough for me.

I don't iron anything like as much as I used to/will in the future, now that DH isn't here. He used to easily go through 3 shirts in a day, but ironing them here gets them back to London less than perfect, so he irons them himself now: which coincidentally has seen him think a little more about multiple short wearing. ;)

In summer I do less ironing: it gets hot. I try and iron in the cooler parts of the day.

I was pruning yesterday and his morning have found my gloves are rubbish: I have loads of rose thorns stuck in my hands, all looking a bit nasty...I think I might have to get a nurse to get them out....I've made a mess of my hands trying to get them out myself.

Ho hum, so much for peace and quiet. At the front of the house someone is taking up their driveway, with major drilling etc,
and at the back of the house there is garden type buzzing noises going on...hedge trimmers etc,
my head is going crazy and there is no-where to hide!

    Hair is washed,
now to put face on and get dressed.
