Kandi, sorry for not replying, was out doing the food shop.
Wore my cream wool coat with the fur collar and black and white striped slingbacks: a bit much for Lidl, do you think? Planning on wearing the new dress with tights, leggings, bare legged - however I can get away with it, because it is gorgeous and so comfy to wear.
Nikki, I'd love to look elegant; as it is, I can barely manage wild and woolly most days. :rotfl:"All cruelty springs from weakness" - Lucius Annaeus SenecaPersonal pronouns are they/them/their, please.
I'm intolerant of wheat, citrus, grapes, grape products and dried vine fruits, tomato, and beetroot, and I am also somewhat caffeine sensitive.0 -
hi girls. I'm back. sorry I disappeared for a while, was frantically trying to finish my work so I could spare some time to model the outfit and take some pics.. here they are, please bear with me...
dress with grey shoe boots and white chifon sleeves
thought I looked a bit like a morris dancer?!
dress with grey shoeboots and black chifon sleeves
too much black?
dress with fluffy white scarf
dun mind Salem, he wanted to get in the shot too :rotfl:
lastly, dress with school girl chunky shoes
looks too childish and chunky do you think? and even more so like a morris dancer!
what does everyone think? thanks in advance for any other advice
DH has texted me the good news... he's managed to get me them shoe boots from DP in black! might work better if its all the same colour? dress, tights and shoes? I am a shortie but might be nice to not look even shorter than I already am0 -
I love the dress, and it looks better with the boots than the chunky shoes. Perhaps black boots would be best (good news, hurrah DH!) and maybe coloured tights?0

I love that dress too you look fab in it!
I also prefer the boots to the shoes, I'm gonna try get some of those boots tomorrow I have fallen in love with them
If all else fails can you not borrow some shoes from someone, family friends - thats what I do (naughty I know) !You can stand there and agonize........

I agree. I think bare legs or coloured tights would be better than black, they look a bit heavy. I'd also go with the fluffy rather than the sleeves.0 -
thanks Daisybella. I love the dress too. its a bit too big now, bought it a while ago from DP on sale and have dropped a dress size since, but easily altered on the neck bit, its got a safety pin in now, will sew it properly tonight
looking back at the pics, I think the boots look better too, the chunky shoes are too casual and chunky? to DH for the black boots.. better make him a nice dinner tonight, he had to run to DP during his lunch hour
what top do you think looks better? the scarf definitely feels warmer!0 -
the fluffy scarf0

Beautiful dress and definately the boots over the shoes.
I agree with Caroline that the fluffy shawl looks the better of the two and that perhaps a grey pair of tights (or even a silver pair) would make the dress really stand out.0 -
siaoeh, the dress is lovely ! Agree with the others, the black boots will be perfect.
I like the white scarf too.:jWeight loss to date 1st 11.5lb :j0 -
thanks for the coloured/grey/silver tights idea! :T never thought of that... just kept thinking I need to wear black tights to extend the legline since there's hardly any visible
but I only have black, navy and browns at home... will have to pop out to my local high st tomorrow to see if I can get some... can't trust DH to get them though can I? goodness know what he will come back with :rotfl:
cheers girls :A0
