    Hi guys :)

Sorting out glastonbury packing today (or some of it at least)
Might be having to get the train to meet a friend to take us there so can't take a lot.

black & white spotty wellies got here today :D

Advice on clothes would be appreciated. So far i think i will take
    - tie dye vest dress/top
    - a couple of tshirts/vest tops
    - knee length shorts
    - short shorts
    - leggings
    - jeans or some other faster drying trousers
    - old zip up hoodie
    - waterproofs
    - maybe a dress or 2

I have a little meths cooker that i'm not sure whether to take or not. it's very small & light but i'm worried about wrecking it especially if i don't even get to use it much.

Oh and i'm not sure about shoes. Some combination of wellies, battered doc martens, comfy trainers (that i dont want to ruin), plimsols i dont care about ruining because they were £2 (but aren't comfy) and sandals/flipflops.

    Hi Marzy! I'm Glasto-bound, too.

Leave your jeans behind, they are a nightmare once they get wet and unless you travel in them take up too much space.
I stick to short dresses and denim cut-offs plus a maxi dress. One pair of leggings and some brightly coloured opaque tights so that you can wear a couple of pairs at once at night (cos it can get really cold).
I really feel the cold on festival nights what with being outside and drinking all day so I make sure I've got a long sleeved top I can pop on under my dresses and a chunky cardi and shawl. I always take a woolly hat too. We have the luxury of a campervan so I make sure I've got my trusty fake fur coat in there as well as a straw hat.
Poundland have got some really cool thigh-high stripey and plain socks at the moment
Footwise I take an old pair of rubber flipflops that I know are comfy, plus wellies and army boots.
    Hope this helps!

MF - are your plimsolls the Primark ones? I find mine incredibly comfy!

Sounds like you're missing off cardi and warm stuff. I know zip about festivals but I do quite a bit of camping and even if it's sunny during the day, you'll be feeling the cold at night.

Don't worry, Lost, my baby wipes and bin bags are biodegradable and the washing up liquid, shower gel and shampoo are eco-friendly.

Glasto has the same policy as the Big Chill (my favourite festival) with on-site recycling facilities.

We get so much rubbish in the days before, but more so, afterwards. People just flinging stuff out of windows. I've found people going to the loo in field s with livestock in too...silly, but really a pain if they leave things...that..er...don't break down as easily in the rain. :(

Yep, I've seen the sea of wellies, clothes and tents on monday afternoons. The policy of "Leave No Trace" is clearly marked on the tickets and throughout the festival site

Unfortunately littering scumbags exist everywhere, even in urban areas

    Absolutely, and sad.

Glastonbury is very important for the local economy here, and its fun. :) This s a beautiful corner of England, and its wonderful tht people come here, and enjoy it (to come ast us they are enjoying a back route on single track roads) but...clearing up is a pain :o I love that people come here, just...hate the rubbish and the bad behaviour at supermarkets etc on the way. We welcome people, as I say, the local economy needs everyone..

    Hi girls

So jealous of those of you going to Glastonbury. My own fault, I forgot the tickets went on sale early this year and then couldn't get the time off when the second wave came out. Might go to the Wickerman festival though, depending again on getting time off.

PF - try not to worry too much, it might be he's a neighbour that you've never noticed because he doesn't particularly stand out, but he's noticed you, because of your outfits, car, whatever.

I think once you do become aware of your neighbours, certain things do stick in your mind. Now you're aware of him, you'll probably actually notice him around, which will mean you'll be able to keep an eye out and see if he really is acting a little oddly or whether he's just going about his normal day.

Now I really need to motivate my butt into getting in to work - I've got a stupid shift today and don't start until 4. Oh well, better make tracks. Currently wearing:

    Billabong flowered cotton skirt
    yellow tshirt
    indian silver bell ankle bracelet

Thanks for the advice. Promise i'll be good and considerate. Chucking a roll of bin bags in the glastonbury pile. Some friends worked at a festival (taking down the stage & stuff after) last year and came back with lots of folding chairs people had left. Was useful for bbqs. I'd have grabbed a tent if i'd been there.

Annoyingly most of my warm cosy camping stuff is in birmingham but i'll dig out more jumpers. I'll miss my fleece and army shirt.

alex, yeah theyre the primark ones. I find them comfy in that they don't rub or squash my feet which is a triumph over quite a few of my shoes but the lack of support in the sole makes my feet ache when i wear them for a while / walk far.
