PF - your shoes always look fab with your dresses, you're not trying to wear clumpy Mary Janes with a maxi or anything like I try to!
Vicki - good luck with the giant bra, how are you going to do it? It'll be a challenge! My tags say 'Niknok Handmade in Wales' as instructed by Becki from the shop.
today's outfit
black skirt as yesterday (what can I say, it was on the floor!)
purple cami with crochet trim layered over black cami (both Primark)
triple strand necklace with lots of different random beads (Therealiolithie on Etsy)

weird little woodenbracelet with religious icons on (charity shop yesterday, 50p)
It looks like it's going to be a nice day today, let's hope it warms up a little bit!0 -

I made a tentative start last night, I'm using some cheap pillowcases for fabric and made a paper pattern for the cups which are in two parts. I'm deliberating making an underwire from a wire hanger but I'd rather not use one as 1. It's hassle I don't need and 2. Someone is bound to pick up on the fact that wire is not recommended.
I'm going to make the center piece (the bit that joins the cups together) as small as possible so a plunge style and that will be cut. This will be easy to replace for further cuttings or events.
I have enough fabric to make two as I think they will be fun for the event. I'm going to make them frilly, lacey and beautiful, the way nursing bras SHOULD be!
Your tags sound perfect, such a lovely touch.0 -
Love the sound of the giant bra - dont forget pictures.
It is really quiet without Daisy, she is like Mum on here keeping everyone right, glad to hear she is ok, I will write to her next week.
I bought some gladiator type sandals yesterday to wear with skinnie jeans (that is an oxymoron i am sure when they are in a size 18 :rotfl:) or my floaty dresses or skirts but I have a little problem...
I had an ingrowing toenail several years ago and had to have it removed - its my big toe (sorry if I am making you feel sick _pale_) I want to paint my nails if they are on show in sandals but it will look odd if one is missing so shall I just leave them bare and hope no-one notices my odd toe, or paint them anyway and just not care?
When I wear flip flops in summer I stick a false nail on my bare toe and paint that but I can't in these sandals. I didn't think this through before buying them. You can stand there and agonize........
Till your agony's your heaviest load. (Emily Saliers)0 -
Why can't you use the false nail in the gladiators Kandi will it catch? What about using some stronger glue and filler to help it stay put. I don't think anyone would find the lack of nail gross though.0
-
Thanks Vicki - if I have it on inside peep toes or anything like that it just comes straight off, and that's using superglue! I never buy shoes that have peep toes for that reason, but I was just not thinking when I bought these, and they are mega comfy I am keeping them.
I think I might just paint the nails that are there, I am sure none else will notice, it's just me being a freak. You can stand there and agonize........

Dear Goan, I have wanted to send you a message too. Know that I am thinking of you with fondness. when you Glasto you'll be very near me you know.
Thanks, Lost, you've very special to me, too. xx
Maybe we should take a diversion on the way to Glasto so's we can wave at you!
Sorry to hear about Dh's aunt, it's just an awful disease. I'm over the anger now and collecting as much as I can for Cancer Research UK so other families will one day be spared the pain.
Mum was a costume jewellery-aholic, I've literally got bin bags full of the stuff she collected. I'm thinking of a blog sale and donating the proceed to charity.
It's beautiful here today, just been to the florists to arrange the flowers for next week and it's a day of ebaying and gardening, I think. My brother moves into his first house today so our plans may be scuppered as I'm sure he'll need help moving (and I want to nose around.)
Pirate, it's my Dad's birthday tomorrow. Hope you manage to do something special, love to you!
Vicki - giant bra...love it!
Today's outfit:

Knee high Italian leather boots (Charity shop £4.99)
