Watch a video/audio version of the email

What's this all about?
For a long time I've been doing an easy download 'muttering' to go with the weekly email. It's essentially an audio commentary. Then along comes 'podcasting', which is a way that people can sunscribe to audio or video feeds, so that they appear in their podcast inbox.
In practce for many this means its a way to automatically download audio and videos onto their MP3 players. So I decided it was time to do that too and experiement with a video version at the same time
If you haven't got an iPod you can just listen to the muttering which is in the top right of the email and it should just open automatically. That won't happen with the video podcast though.
How to watch
Those with video iPods can just download it the usual way by clicking the video podcast link in the tip.
If you've not got a video iPod you first need to download the free software
available from Apple to your PC. Then you can click the video podcast button in the weekly email and you'll be sent to my iTunes Podcast page. There, you can click the "Get Episode" button and it'll download to your computer so you can watch it.
There are other video formats for the web. We're still in experimental stages though as the moment with the video version of this, so at the moment I'm sticking with one format. Hopefully in the future we'll be able to offer the video muttering in other formats too.
Why I'm doing this?
I got a knock on the door at MoneySaving Towers, from Bela a producer at tiptoptv who rather conveniently are based on the other side of the corridor. He's a site user and suggested it'd be fun to try.

I really like the idea of the podcast :T however I don't think it is the most user freindly media - how about an mpeg file we could download? I run 3 XP machines all of which crash when viewing video podcasts.0

That's strange.
My laptop hates Video podcasts (and all Quicktime files) You can hear the fan go into overdrive because of the processing required. But they don't crash it.
if you want, you can drag the file out of Itunes and open it in Quicktime. I find that often helps.0 -
I hate itunes and wont have it messing up all the settings on my computer, perhaps a xvid/divx vid?

The podcast is great and does make the e-mail a lot easier to understand.
I had trouble downloading the video version from itunes this week, but found that the audio version was just as good.0
