is this a "trade in" under the scrappage scheme....if so....the dealer won't give a hoot even if you tow it to the garage

Doesn't the car have to be in a road worthy condition to qualify for Scrappage?

The bureaucrats also insist on nursing a prisoner back to health before executing the death sentence. You have to spend hundreds to pass the MOT so it ends up crushed. God knows where they get these fruitcakes from.

Pretty sure we don't have the death sentence here...

I thought it only had to have an MOT & be taxed when you agree the order with the dealer & when you actually hand it over it doesn't matter about MOT, tax or condition (other than the need to get the car there to hand over)

As for death row hospitals and healthy executionees, any country that has the death penalty axiomatically can’t be relied on to act logically

Hi thanks for all your replies, my car is a 58 plate fiat punto grande valued at £7000 so not under scrappage scheme, insurance company have now took over the claim and have to ring the salesman tomorrow his day off today typical, hopefuly it will just delay picking my new car up until the Punto is repaired.

    Wow, a £7000 Fiat, there's a rarity:o:o;);)

Sorry Joella, I shouldn't jest at your misfortune. It is a question I've often wondered about myself as I am very much on edge if I have agreed a deal and am still driving the p/x around. With a value like that it's obviously even more tricky. Be aware that the dealer will probably want to view the car after repair before the deal can be finalised. And also even if the repair is perfect it may in his view, and I agree, have devalued your car. It's almost impossible to repair bodywork damage of this type without the repair being aparent to the trade, and everyone would sooner buy an "original" car rather than a repaired one.
Claiming any loss of value through the other parties insurers would be a hell of a job tho'.

Good luck, and please advise of the outcome ;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
