50p a month on fixed lines to pay foe broadband for all

What do you think of the Goverment's scheme to put a 50p a month tax hike on fixed line telephone users to allow everyone to recieve broadband?
You don't really think that they will use it for broadband do you ... The Goverment tell the truth...... thats a laugh
I for one will be getting rid of my fixed line which is overpriced anyway and will go wireless!
What else are they going to think of taxing us on I wonder
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

  • Go wireless and get slower speeds, and higher charges.
Looked into them, frankly not worth it, suck it up and pay, not like 50p pm is going to affect you, wish they would increase it a bit to absolve piracy too so it could be made legal to download what anyone wanted.
    Nothing to see here

I'm happy it's the only way I'll get a decent BB connection
  • I dont mind charges like this if they go to a good cause of some sort. I would be more than happy for them to bump my various taxes by 50p per month if it helps the country somehow.

I have more chance of noticing a leaf fall in the amazon rainforest while sat here typing this as I am an extra 50p going out of my account per month.
  • What worries me is what it will rise to in years to come:eek:

How many of us really need faster speeds if we only use the Internet for social purposes.
I understand to a business it may be important.

it maybe 50p now but in 3 years it will be £5

They say it's for super high speed Internet BS

We will get it eventually anyways, without Tax
