Hi
In todays post have received a letter from NMR, saying when i became registered keeper and 'we believe that you disposed of the vehicle on or around 18-02-10' and have asked me on back of letter to confirm mileage details etc when it was sold.

Well its sitting in my garage and i havent sold it.
Is this just a marketing type letter or should i be worried?

Thanks

    Sounds like a scam.
Not aware of any such scheme.
  • It'll have come from someone who has done a HPi check on the car and requested an investigation as the mileage threw up a descrepency.

That said, if the car is sat in your garage then contact NMR and ask them to confirm what details they hold as it could be a clerical error.

NMR has been running for years - they work in conjunction with HPi

Thanks, vehicle was actually purchased brand new in May 09, i'm the only owner!
So nobody should be checking for it!
Have just looked at their website and sent them an email asking why it has been sent to me!.

  • Might be a clerical error. Someone has typed a 8 instead of a B or something silly. So the car details match?

NMR is a genuine organisation/company and it's worth sending the details back to help combat mileage fraud/scams.

Your doing the right thing by contacting NMR. It sounds like someone is trying to sell a clone of your bike and the buyer is HPIing it.
