Same Network Calls

We are trying to minimise our mobile costs. Does anyone know of any provider who still gives free calls between mobiles on the same network? Each of the tariffs I've looked at (Orange, Vodafone and O2) all seem to levy a charge. Is that just standard practice nowadays?

I am with 02 and have 1000 minutes a month to call landlines and 02 network in the off peak hours.
Is there anyway you can tell which network the mobile number, you are trying to dial, belongs to.
Would be really obliged

You can get an idea by using http://www.magsys.co.uk/telecom/codelook.asp
but this only gives the network of origin of the number. It cant take into account porting to other networks.0 -
if the number is issued by 02, 3 it should be in affect free regardless of porting it to another provider voda orange etc as o2 handle the incoming call, simply then permanantly divert it to your new provider this way o2 makes money out of the call even if you leave there network and then pay a porting wholesale amount per min to voda/orange for access to thier network
it used to be set up like this dunno if still is, thats why o2 were wise about marketing free sims years ago, if you left and took your number they were still quids inIf I helped or saved you money - Thank me
