I'm declaring at £101.27 for March. Think I'll stay the same for April and see how it goes. Have loads of HM 'ready meals' in the freezer so should be fine.
MrsM can I have £110 for April please. Love reading ur posts, gets me inspired. If only I had a garden!!
Hugs to all that need it, losing someone close, esp when unexpected just blows everything apart, but with the help of those around you, it makes it a wee bit easier.
CherryPie xMy name is CherryPie and I'm addicted to grocery shopping!!
Grocery Challenge
Feb 2016 - £46.73 / £100.000 -
Right... here we go... I'm over again
.... but not nearly as bad as anticipated! I'm also going to cheat a bit as need to go shopping on Tues as we're having a Birthday party- but I'm putting that into my April spends as I could stretch it out till April if it weren't the party.
April budget for Tallullahbelle is £500... Fingers crossed! And huge thanks to all who post- I'm sure without this forum my spending would be way out of control! It's knowing I have to admit to what I've spent that stops me! Thanks!2014 GC: £957.61/ £54000 -
Morning all
Just an update on the spends, went to MrA's yesterday and have overspent and still need to get through this next week, seem to have taken my eye off the ball somewhat and now overspent badly! NEED TO DECLARE FOR MARCH AT £394.31/£350 PLEASE ALSO PUT ME DOWN FOR £375 FOR APRIL THANKS. Have been buying much more meat at the butchers which costs more but the quality is so much better. The butcher I use makes up packs which cost about £10 so am intending to buy once of these each week and then bag it up to quantities that we need and freeze, once I get a selection of meats this will save us some money. Have also been trying to cook a few different recipes as we seem to have got stuck in a bit of a rut - eating the same things each week.
Have a good weekend everyone, stay stay and well.

Morning all
I'm very envious of the people who are finishing their months...mine definitely needs putting out of its' misery!
I spent another £5.11 yesterday mainly on lollies as DD1 was off with a cold and only wanted to eat ice lollies.
For the rest of the week I'm trying to run down the freezer - I wanted to leave it empty for when we go away at Easter but I don't think I'll quite manage that - it's the 2 bags of Quorn pieces that I don't think we'll get through!
I'm going to cut myself some slack for April due to Easter/school holidays etc and go for an embarrassingly unambitious £500 for April please Mrs M. Will declare on 31/3.August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
Morning all
Hugs to all those needing them, hope everyone is coping.
Finishing the month with the following spends:
I*land £4.70
A*di £11.13
Semi C*em £3.69
Mr M £20.73
Total for this week £39.25 which isn't too bad. However the total for the month is at £169.36 which includes those sirloin steaks from Makro which will last us for months.
Mrs McC declaring annual total of £356.38 thanks
Quite happy with this as works out about £118 a month which was about my aim. Actually enjoying shopping around for the best dealsand I think now I am very price aware and that it is worth the extra effort to go to 4 shops rather than buy everything in Mr M, luckily in my area the shops are reasonably near each other.
Have a good weekend all0 -

Good morning everyone,
managed to be slightly under GC again this month. Target for Highland Fling for April £160 please.
Have been buying oranges from Aldi super six this week, they are delicious.
Of now to make gingerbread. Love the house smelling of baking, reminds me of my childhood. My mother was a wonderful baker and her pastry was sublime.:)It takes a long time to eat an elephant and I'm doing it a bite at a time!!!0 -
Oh dear! I have shot myself in the foot I fear, and will need to have a long, hard look at what I will or will not include as a grocery spend.
I really thought I had got it sorted out, but my total meant I was aiming for 50p per meal per inhabitant and that left nothing for other essentials such as toilet tissue and things. It just sounded more when I said seven pounds per day!Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.
