ANother £12 spent today. Co-op this time, can't resist their offers, they are so good!
Did stop myself buying a bottle of white wine just for a recipe, used cider instead, saved £4 as that was in the house already (Dh stocked up to beat the budget increase!!)
Have decided that as I am getting bored of meal planning I will try a different apporach next month. Instead of shopping from my list and paying full price for everything, I will buy what's on offer and then try to make meals around that and what I havein the house..

Hi all,
After hanging my head in utter shame this month, I have started April much better. Realised this afternoon that I haven't set myself a target for this month, so here it is - £120 please.
I haven't been into a shop since my April began on Tuesday, so I have 3 NSDs in a row! This is very unlike me, but I'm not complaining! Should be an NSD tomorrow too, as I'm at work, and the dinner is slow cooker stew, which is already prepared and in the fridge, ready to go! Will prob go shopping on sat, but i've decided that because i like going shopping, i'm not going to do a monthly shop any more. I'll do a weekly shop and not feel bad about it. This means I'll be able to get my fix of shopping, and also i will never have too many days until i can go again!
I'm setting myself a really tough challenge of NSDs this month. The month before last, i managed 17, so i'm aiming for 20 this time, out of a 31 day month.
10% of my month gone, 0% of budget spent!!!
Have a good evening all, I'm off to do my first week's meal planner,

I am afraid that I am a complete grocery challenge failure this month. It was all going so well but now I've totally lost track and I know we have seriously overspent. Oh well, try again next month.Sealed pot member 735

Hi everyone!
Just popping in top update my annual total, declaring at £758.45.
I have reduced my annual target to £2864 by shifting the alchol part of the budget into my entertainment budget.
I have spent approx £50 more than I wanted to this month and while food costs are OK I am overpsending on toiletries and household stuff. I am also getting more tired with the pregnanacy and not cooking whats on the meal plan and a little fresh stuff is getting wasted.:o
This month DH and I have decided to live out of the freezer so it can be restocked ready for the end of the month when my baby is due. We are going to avoid the supermarket and just visit the fruit shop as this is all we need this week and if we go to Mr M we will be seduced by the offers and spend £40! We also think that it would be better if one or the other shopped as we lead each other astray:o I am sure I would spend a lot less and stick to the list if DH was not there but I am not convinced it would work if I let him loose on his own. Will give it a try as it will make life a lot easier if he can shop alone when the baby comes.
Also have a costco trip planned for tomorrow which will blow the household part of the budget as need loo roll, soap powder and razor blades for DH. Will also proce up the dog food as our two will only eat Chum.
I think I will set a small food target this month and try and stick to that.
Good luck for April!
