Spent another £16.65 today :( Some of it was stuff I fetched for my mom though but I didn't ask her for the money because she doesn't let me pay her if she fetches stuff for me. I have updated my sig accordingly. Must be really extra good for the rest of the month. Unfortunately relatives are coming to town to visit at the weekend and they always want us to join them for a takeaway & its really awkward if I say no because they assume I can't afford it and offer to pay which I don't want. Oh well I might still come in within budget if I'm careful about what I cook for the rest of the month and just don't pick too extravagant a takeaway at the weekend.
Back on the money saving wagon again!

What did I say famous last words.......:eek:DS3 forgot to tell me was cooking today so £2.10 for that plus 2x 26p fresh tomato and basil soup and 1 19p veg pack Whoopsies from Mr M= £2.81 Ive still got to buy 1/2 lime and 1/2 green chilli!! I ask you:mad:, I think these technology teachers are having a laugh!! wouldnt you think they would organise the little bits so that you could take the money in and pay for smaller amounts. Iv'e still got to figure how to transport 10ml of oil and 1 5ml spoon of corriander!! :eek:sorry rant over.
Moniker Well done! how brave are you, I can't swim and would love to take the plunge and learn. One day perhaps!!
Sistercass I agree everytime I visit my local Mr T the whoopsies there are very expensive sometimes they only knock 10p off, so not worth it. I find Mr M the best place for Whoopsies. I usually manage to get a bargain every time I am in there. Now update my total to £136.64/£160 so not bad I suppose, will add extras on later. :)have a good day everyone xx

    Hi peeps,

i`m almost certainly over budget after an extra shopping trip :o

I`ll add up my totals later, there were some really good offers on that i didn`t want to miss out on so i decided to bite the bullet and shoved everything into the trolley.

All is not lost though as almost all of it won`t be getting used this month so i`m going to deduct what will be used next month and take it off next months budget :D that way i don`t cheat by going over this month and being under next month as we will have lots of food in.

The best deals were the gammon in MrM 1.4kilo for £4.99 the pork loin also in MrM for £3 and the brisket was on offer too so i`ve bought a lovely piece to freeze. It will go in the slow cooker at a later date with onions and guinness. Its amazing how far brisket will stretch really, perhaps its the "new" chicken :rotfl:

Losing patience - Hope the little piggie is ok (((HUGS)))

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Spent £13.08 in Mr S last night. Got BOGOF oven chips and ice cream and a whoopsied half price frozen shortcrust pastry as well as some other bits and pieces.

This leaves me a grand total of 72p to last until next Friday so I will go over as we will need fruit. I only need to buy fruit but strugle to resist the temptation of offers when in the shop:o

I got a Lidl BM a while ago and I didnt like the way the bread turned out - it was a bit brick like! Maybe it was just me tho. I ended up Freecycling it so not very MS. Id like to try a BM again but I'd like someone to recommend one ( tried and tested!)

Have just done my last BIG shop and Im teetering on the edge of success/failure! ;) Have only £2 .78 for bread & bits next week.:rotfl: My month ends next Fri - 19th. My defence is that I got my dog/cat food on Pets at Home website and my usual dog food had £7 off a 15kg bag plus free delivery over £25. So I got the cat food too. Total spend should have been £35.10, actual £28.10 plus I got 5% cashback thro Quidco. If I go over GC budget by a little I wont be too :( as I wont need to buy pet stuff next month so it will average out ok.
Sorry for the big waffle! Have a lovely day all!:D
I must admit I don't like the way the bread turns out from any of the BMs I've had.( I've had a few different ones)

I just use them to make the dough, then bake in the oven.

So a cheapy one is ideal for me, as long as it makes a 2lb loaf.
    My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
    So we’re empty nesters.
    Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).

Just a quick update - done quite well this week so far - managed to make my Monday list wait until Thursday, so only a few bits (loaf here, pint there) to mention.

Total spend so far is £237.02, which leaves £42.98 for the last 11 days. Only bread, fruit and milk needed (oh, and one birthday cake for DH), so I should be fine.

Suddenly realised that with DS3s 4th birthday last weekend I've lost the milk tokens, so it looks like I got the budget under control just at the right time.

Expecting Mr A later with the grocery delivery. Spent £36.99, which includes a few treats.:o
Had yesterday and today off work for last 2 days A/L and managed to not spend anything other than the main grocery shop!
Budget in general was going well until central heating broke down. Just waiting for an engineer to come out now. It feels like as soon as I get a little bit ahead, something comes along to knock me back, financially.:(

£15.06 spent today at Morrisons & Netto. Mainly to allow me to have a go at making my own soup for the first time (note to self, not so much pepper on the next try!) but included a bargain stew pack for only 19p. So far I'm beating the budget, only two weeks left to shop for and still over half left with all main meals for the month accounted for. :j
