Those are fantastic! I only wish I had the skill (and patience!) to do something like that.0

They are absolutely fabulous:T, and although I've never made anything like that before I'm making some for my cousins wedding in August:eek:. Am attempting the wedding cake ones, although I've got my birthday before then so am making some for my friends and family, but I'll only (listen to her "only"!) be trying the smiley faced ones:TSealed Pot Challenge Member 1216 -

They seem to be taking off in a big way now. I saw them a couple of weeks ago and am going to make some for my sis's 30th birthday party. (GULP!)
For those interested in trying them theres some good tutorials on youtube - as well as some nice ideas.
PS love the wedding cake ones nunnygirl. But they do look like hard work. Well done you, I hope they turn out fab.:T"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye" - Miss Piggy0 -
i have tried making these, and it was a total failure
dont know if its because i used a proper sponge mix, rather than the packet mix required, or the fact you cant get candy melts or ready-made frosting off the shelf in the UK, so had to improvise, but i just ended up with sticky blobs of cake, that wouldnt stay on the sticks

Could you use a truffle mixture that had cake in it. When I make truffles before I shape them the mixture is chilled and it becomes firm. Thats how I thought I would do the base for mine when i do themNothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

a truffle mix would prob work better, but truffles tend to be heavier than cake, so they might be a bit top heavy on the sticks?
