That's never a good idea. You have no way of knowing what malware whoever created that iso file will have added.
It sounds like you were lucky and that whoever hacked it did the job badly. Even so, it's possible that whatever you have run has installed a rootkit which could survive a re-format of the drive (they infect the MBR and other parts of the hard disk that don't get re-written in a re-format, and that area of the disk can't usually be seen by normal AV programs).
Perhaps a bit paranoid, but in your position I'd download the diagnostic utilities for the make of HDD and either do a MBR re-write or a complete bit-level erase of the whole drive.0
