is it possible to cancel my contract to take another with a cashback offer, my contract with o2 is coming to an end in may and at the moment quidco are offering £100 cashback for a sim only contract, the problem is i would quite like to keep my number and i havent got a clue how to go about it or even if it is possible, has anyone else done this? i heard about the orange contract fiasco and i dont agree with people that terminated mid contract to take out cashback offers but this would be a legit way of doing it wouldnt it? its only the same as going elsewhere to a different provider for their cashback?

anyways any advice appreciated :) thanks

You'd need to ask O2 for your pac code (to move your number), go to another networks payg sim.
Start the new contract, get the pac for the payg and move your number back to O2.

They don't want existing customers getting new customer deal, that way you have to do the work round. .
