She is beautiful, very easy to see why you fell for her.
Kongs are great, keep my staffys happy for a while, as do raw meaty bones which are free or very cheap fro the local friendly butcher. Plus there's a ton of kong recipes to be found on google. I'd highly recommend them.
As for food, two meals as day is right given her age. If your by a pets at home I've heard good stuff about their weinwrights (both wet and dry) brand, I believe it's about £30 a bag. Myself personally can recommend Arden Grange and Orijen. May seem pricey but both excellent foods, since the ingredients are better, you feed less, works out cheaper in the long run.
My 19kg staffy gets 150g of Orijen mixed with prize choice raw mince, divided over two meals. If you only have the one dog a bag of Orijen will last 90 ish days (depending on weight) which works out about 50p a day. Arden Grange works out about 38p I believe.
Then there's the raw option, which would probably work out even cheaper, but I don't know enough about that to advise. Although I'm sure someone can.Sigless0 -
That is very helpful, thank you so much. Can I ask about the prize choice raw mince, is that a brand of dog food? I've never heard of it before, and being veggie, don't have much experience of buying human mince either!
