8-12 year olds!

Hi all, I am after some help if possible.

I am taking part in the Trash to Cash: £100 to £10,000 challenge on the 'Up Your Income' board and it has made me actually start something I have wanted to do for a wlong while which is write a book (my attempt to make some extra money towards my target!)

So I have started now but already I need some help!! :rotfl:

I need to do some research about 8-12 year old girls and boys.

So please if any of you know any 8-12 years please could you just tell me a bit about them, either by pm or on here whichever is easiest best for you. I don't need or want to know any personal or identifying info at all, but an age would be good too.

Here are a few pointers as to the kind of thing I need to find out:

What books do they enjoy reading?
Do they have any favourite games (from outside with firends, to on a Playstation)?
How do they enjoy spending their free time?
What do they spend their money on, e.g magazines (if so which ones), sweets etc?
Do they have any hobbies?
What are their favourite school subjects?
Any school projects which they have really enjoyed and wanted to know more about?
Favourite tv shows/films etc
Any topics they are passionate about, eg my boy LOVES volcanos (but he is only 4 so a bit young for my research!)

I know that seems a huge list but I don't need answers from everybody on all questions but if there is anything you can help with I'd love to hear from you!

What books do they enjoy reading? Anything by Jacqueline Wilson, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, My Unwilling Witch, Rainbow Faries series, Indie Kidd, Clarice bean
Do they have any favourite games (from outside with firends, to on a Playstation)? Arts & crafts, schools and playing with dolls (Barbie, Polly Pocket) Very good at imaginery games. Club Penguin.
How do they enjoy spending their free time? Having friends over, online, swimming.
What do they spend their money on, e.g magazines (if so which ones), sweets etc? Usually arts & craft stuff
Do they have any hobbies? Ballet & Brownies
What are their favourite school subjects? History, Geography & French.
Any school projects which they have really enjoyed and wanted to know more about? Victorians
Favourite tv shows/films etc Wizards of Waverly Place, Suite Life, Mythbusters

Do they have any favourite games (from outside with firends, to on a Playstation)? Will play usual playground games, Fav playstation 3 game Little Big planet, Fav Wii Game HSM Sing It, Fav Xbox360 Game ANy of Lego games, Fav Game Cube Game Monkey Ball
How do they enjoy spending their free time? Playing with friends, Helping doing jobs around house (loves to clean anything but her bedroom!), roller blading, swimming, Dance Club, Gardening
What do they spend their money on, e.g magazines (if so which ones), sweets etc? Spends pocket money on any of "In my pocket" range has all puppies, kittens, ponies now collecting Ocean ones. Has a subscription for Young National Geographic Animals Mag

What are their favourite school subjects? Art, English Lit, ICT
Any school projects which they have really enjoyed and wanted to know more about? History currently studying Naval History both kids loved learning about the Plague even if it mean't we had nightmares for months and a new found fear of them dying and everyone they love dying!
Favourite tv shows/films etc Loves HSM, Tracey Beaker, Dr Who, Sarah Jane
Any topics they are passionate about, eg my boy LOVES volcanos (but he is only 4 so a bit young for my research!) LOVES Sea Turtles and reading practically anything also enjoys doing crosswords, Sudoku, Word Searches etc

Will pop back on for other kids after I have braved snow to collect them from school LOL

Lego, lego, lego & XBox (Driving games normally)

Playing lego, dinking around on the piano, writing and drawing.

I'll ask my daughter (11) to answer some of these for you when she gets in from school - would answer them for her but her mind changes sooo much I can't always pin her down to specifics. Although I do know this much if its scary she loves it.

Total bookworm, will read almost anything. Books sat in front of me are "Zombie bums from Uranus" and "the day my bum went psycho" - he likes toilet humour!
