AOLacsd.exe is a part of the AOL Internet Software and relates to the connection driver, essential to Internet connection. This program is a non-essential system process, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems.

I would take a backup of everything important. Do not be surprised if that hard disk fails. Google for a free disk scanning utility and see if it can detect damaged sectors and repair them. Chkdsk will sometimes report a repair, but the sector remains damaged. Also check with Dell as to the manufacturer of your hard drive, they will usually have a free utility to check the disk thoroughly and report any potential failures.

What type of HDD is it? Visit the manufactorers website and look under support/customer services for a utility to check the health.

It's a more specific test on your HDD instead of using the Windows scan/dsk check. Do you know if you are S.M.A.R.T compatible?
