£130 cashback for NPower

Well, rise or fall, if you are with npower you usually lose out. If it's a rise, you get a rise, generally larger than for its latest, most competitive, tariff; if it's a fall, you don't get a fall. And one can generally guarantee that prices won't stay the same, whatever the wholesale market is doing. Cynical, moi?
Edit: Don't want to bash on npower too much: there is not much difference between the suppliers really.0 -
I checked with npower and if you switch tariffs they state you do not lose the duel fuel discount. I am on SOL 15 and was looking to switch to SOL 17, saving £48 per year. Main difference is I have no tie in on my present tariff. I received an email confirming this0

That's worth knowing. It sort of puts a cap on how much your tariff can differ from the best available, if we assume that npower will continue to compete for new customers by having a reasonably competitive tariff available most of the time.
With a 40 pound exit penalty, if your tariff gets behind by more than that (based on expected consumption) over the time remaining on your 12-month direct debit discount cycle, you can execute an internal switch with npower. Of course, npower probably are not obliged to allow switching between their own tariffs, or to allow it with preservation of direct debit discount.0
