Hello everyone,
I have dusted it off and was wondering what can I make in it.
All I ever used to do was beef stew or a chicken casserole thingy.
Is it really cheap to run if its on all day?
Any ideas for anything would be grateful. Thanks Tracey

Yesterday I made Smiley Mum's Sausage and bean casserole from the recipie index and it was yummy - best dish so far cannot reccomend enough!
Only small downside is need to brown sausages beforehand but could do night before. I tend to chop everything up and put crockpot in fridge overnight so all I have to do in morning is lift out and plug in! Not only is this cheap to run but it is less time in kitchen for you!Me debt free thanks to MSE :T0 -
Hi Tracey,
My families favourite at the moment is paella in the slow cooker.
2 tbsp olive oil
1 onion finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, crushed
8ox chicen thigh meat, cut into small pieces
1 1/2pts chicken stock
a good pinch of saffron powder
8ox long grain rice
4 tomatoes skinned and chopped
1 red bell pepper finely chopped
salt and freshly ground black pepper
cooked prawns (depending on how many you wish to put in)
4 oz frozen peas
Heat the oil in a fryin gpan and cooke the onion and garlic for about 5 mins, stirring occasionally, without browning.
Add teh chicken and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the stock and saffron, bring to the boil, then stir in the rice, tomatoes and pepper. Season with salt and pepper. Return just to the boil and transfer to the slow cooker.
Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours.
About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the prawns and peas.
Hope you like

You can make soups, cakes etc in it.
I bought yes I know not very money saving but a very good book for £6.99 and it has over 400 recipes for both slow cookers and one pot cassroles etc. It has cakes and even suggests making crumble and lemon curd in it.
I bought it in superbooks and it is written by Catherine Atkinsons and Jenni Fleet wood and what seems to be the hardback version on amazon is £16.99
I cook gammons and make rice pudding in mine.
