Hi kathleenc - EDF are a Bigtime player in the energy business and they have a Bigtime number of customers all of whom are billed by a computer - All of which guarantees that when they get it wrong, they get it wrong BIGTIME.

A bill with an £11,760 Credit may seem to be a little amusing, but it could just as easily be an £11,760 Debit and that Bigtime computer also operates the debt collection process, in which the word 'amusing' does not exist

As EDF have obviously lost control, you need to take control
Write Do not phone or Email, a letter headed Complaint , Just like that in bold.
Enclose copies of their fairytale invoices and demand that send you a fully detailed statement of account that starts when you first joined them, right up to your present meter reading
