Ntl master socket

If I have an Ntl box, with a master socket inside does this basically mean I have a phone line , and all I need to do is reconnect? I want to either use a phone package with Virgin to get a better deal for myself or go to O2 broadband.

Not entirely,
If you have an NTE5 Master socket then you can get VM cable services if the wiring back to the street cabinet is intact,HOWEVER you cannot get an ADSL Based Broadband service (ie O2,BT,TT ect) on a cable phone line due to cable phones working differently from PSTN Phone Lines which supply ADSL broadband service.
However the VM BBand comes over the same system & therefore connects to the same connections that the TV service connects too.
