I should send you a bill for this post. I sprayed a mouthful of coffee over my computer when I read it.
I stand by my view that there is not going to be any big crash but neither do i think everything is fine and dandy with the economy.
I can't see house prices or anything else going through the roof like some think because there is too much to drag it back.
I don't consider myself being bull or bear I;m in the middle and that's where i will stay.0 -
It depends upon what you mean by 'big'. For some 10% drop will be considere big. My area houses have been very boyant but still dropped 15-20% from peak prices. I would expect there possibly to be a further 10% drop, so in total about 25% off peak prices.
Is that big?0 -
i called an estate agent to enquire as to the price of a house I saw.
It was a detached 4 bedroom house. From the outside it looked as though it needed a lot of work.
they wanted 1.1m. Yeah, 1.1m!!!!! i don't see any signs of any crash.
they had a semi detached a little further up the road - 1.25m!!!! hahahahaa
there is no crash.
but those prices are insane. these are not mansions - just suburban family homes.0 -

Don't argue with science!
The 70% crashometer is an IBM water tank. Valve 1 (house prices) lets the water out. Valves 2-100 fill the tank. The fuller the tank the closer we are to a crash.
At the moment everyone is down in the lab with wellies and mops. Apparantly inlet valve 24 (stupidity) and valve 28 (greed) have been fully open for so long they won't close. Valve 60 (I'm not giving it away) is also now fully open. Valve 16 (BTL panic) has also been turned on in the past few days.0 -
