check your tv license

i renewed my tv license online--all good. got an immediate online license and also email confirmation.
old license due to expire 26th feb 2010. new license expires on 26th Jan 2011
the next renewal date was after 11 months and not 12months.
called up immediately and this was rectified on the spot.
could be another ploy on the unsuspecting public as it is easy to miss?

    I understood, (like RFL), they expire at the end of a month, not an arbitrary date in a month!

    Yep, sounds right, just checked our TV Licence and it expires end of Jan 2011.
    ORIGINAL MORTGAGE AMOUNT £106,454.00 (Started Sept 2007)
    NOV 2021 O/S AMOUNT £1,694.41 OUR DEBT REDUCED BY £104,759.59 by std regular, over-payments & off-setting.
    BofE +0.19% Tracker Repayment Offset Mortgage Discounted Sept 07-10 then increased to BofE +0.62% until 2027

    I thought it was like a tax disc, so if you apply 15th January, your license would expire 31st december.
  • TVL are a joke. When you first buy a TV licence, you pay a year's worth of TVL in 6 months, then start to pay normal monthly DD from your 7th month. Obviously, many people tend to move and transfer their licence over to their new address.
