If my BroadBand fails as it might do tonight and i need it for work. Can i unplug the cable in the back of my cable box and does that go into my phone line and then i can use a dial up PAYG??? I would look but it means moving the tv almost and wanted to see if anyone knew, i only ask as the cable is about 15m long! and i don't have a modem cable that long!

could you try explaining a little slower...0 -
Its ok I have had a look at it and it won't work! I mean that my ntl broadband is provided from my ntl box to my pc via a cable. I wanted to know that as ntl are doing work on their broadband in my area at midnight (when i start work) if I could have a back up dial up connection and if the only thing i had to do (as well as download a dial up connection) is plug the cable from the box into my phone line but sadly it isn't that type of cable.
My pc is meters away from my ntl box so i am going to need to get a very long cable to connect my pc to my phone line. Phew!0 -
ahh... okay that makes sense.
