I crashed my car !!!!!!!
Options
Can anyone help me please.
I have stupidly crashed my car this morning. The airbags all came out - the drivers wheel is all buckled and my friend said it looks like the suspension may have been damaged.
How do the repairers decide if it is fixable or not? My insurance company use Nationwide and so far today they have been rubbish!!!!!!!!!
Will they just fix it and give it back to me or will they make sure it is really safe to drive?
And to top it all off, it's my birthday!

Your insurers will send an engineer to look at it, they will then decide if it is cost effective to repair or not.
If they repair it, it should be 100% safe to drive.
Happy Birthday.;)0 -
it is fixable if the cost is less than the value of the car.
for safety, no critical points can be damaged, otherwise its a complete write off.Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -

You do not have to use the repairer chosen by your insurer, you have the right to take it to any authorised repairer of your choice.
However, you will probably loose your right to a courtesy car if you exercise this right, but independants are aware of this and will usually be able to offer a car of there own. Check it out if it's not too late and you know of somewhere reliable.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
If the airbags went off and chassis is damaged then the odds are it will be written off...0

Unhelpful comment. Maybe you should consider taking an English test.
What if he passed?
How would a re-test improve the posters driving skills?0 -

It must be fixable for much less than the value of the car or else they will not entertain a repair.
Anything whether critical or not that can removed and replaced with new parts is perfectly appropriate. Airbags, wheels, steering arms suspension struts and even chassis straightening can be replaced or realighned in the case of the chassis. All these are "critical points/components", and do not automatically write off a car.
Whether the op would be happy with such a major repair is another thing tho'I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

It's possible the OP has missed the part where the original poster said "help" - easy mistake
