I have bought with Jump (Bradford) but not sold with them. From a buyers perspective they were pretty good - ie actually sent out house details, were willing to do viewings when I saw the house hated it and said 'what else have you got' she grabbed some keys and showed me 4 more properties (that was the Leeds, Headingly ish branch).

When you sell thought I think they do this weird thing where they promise you a base price and anything they manage to flog it for over and above that price is their commission!

PS let me know if you find someone good as I want to sell in about 6 months

Well - I've had jump, and Merryweathers round in the last couple of days...

I'm thinking of taking the risk with Jump, if we can negotiate a reduction in his tie in (12 weeks) and a bigger end £ result. I imagine this can be worked on as nobody accepts the first offer, do they!?!

I've heard good things from previous clients about simon blyths when I've done their mortgages, http://www.simonblyth.co.uk/

But their mortgage advisor will hound you to death for the business. Which is OK if you want to use them. Has tried to pinch two clients of mine in the last 6 months

  • Hi Dranny, did you ever go with Jump? If so, what did you make of them?

    Anyone else used Jump?

Who decides the selling price, if Jump take whatever they get over your wanted price?

They also don't want prospective buyers unless they are in a position to proceed, which puts off people who have not already got their property on the market from viewing your property.
  • I've heard they have been investigated by Watchdog, they also had to change their name from Homestart or Homefinder a couple of years ago as they had so many complaints against them. Their terms and conditions in their selling agreement are extremely hard to understand without a solicitor or knowledge of legal jargon. Personally I wouldn't sell my property through them, although buying could be a different story.
