Thanks to everyone here. Not posted before but there is much support to be had. For me the build up to the day was the biggest event. Very little happened on the day, no judge to see, had my forms checked, came back that afternoon and was handed my BR no. Huge weight off the shoulders, looking to move forward now.

Hi and welcome to the forum, glad it all went smoothly for you.

Congratulations bonganza, I glad it went well. It was the same for me the build up the worst, hope you stay around and help when you can!
    All the best.

  • Now I want you approach this like you did your bankruptcy....one step at a time, don't rush don't do anything rash and anything your unsure of you ask away.

    If...x
Thank you so much :A - had an unexpected client so feeling better now, every client I've asked so far has been happy to pay cash so will just keep asking for this and if they really insist on cheque will get them to make it out to hubby & he'll cash it through his account for me. We're going into the city at the weekend so I can go into co-op and ask them to open me a second cashminder under the circumstances(being in the country would like to be able to use the post office)
    Many thanks

    Bump......
  • I was declared bankrupt on 10th March (in Scotland) and just had phone interview end of last week, which I was quite apprehensive about but it was all very straightforward. The lady more or less asked me the same questions that were on the BR form I sent, we went through my finances, she said that they like people who are employed to pay something but it was clear that I had nothing left over to give (am supporting me and hubby) so unless things change I won't be making any payments to them. Even though I was br since 10th Mar it didn't seem real but I actually felt different after the interview, it feels properly final and sorted now, and that's a month into being br already gone, 11 months left to discharge :) Just to finish of the day last week I phoned those lovely people at Jeremy Sutcliffe Solicitors (had got a letter same day as interview) to update them on my situation, was afraid I might get flustered but adopted best posh scots accent to inform them I was BR and to look for a letter from the AIB shortly, it was a nice end to the whole process (though still being bugged by Triton but they'll get their letter soon anyway). Anyway there is life after bankruptcy so happy futures to us all.

Happy future to you too Aurore
I had my interview Monday and feel similar that I can breath and get on with the rest of my life & build a new future. I decided yesterday that I prefer cash so that 'big brother' isn't able to keep tabs on where I shop, what I buy is giving me a feeling of getting my power back.

OK enough rambling - obviously need more caffeine :rotfl:

  • Haha, had to laugh was drinking can of energy drink reading your reply, my caffeine fix of choice :) I got a new account where you get a mastercard with it (my own money tho, not credit) so no hiding my spending, but after bills and food there aint anything anyway :( still, no more being hounded for huge monthly payments to creditors so can't complain, have learned a lesson for sure. Good luck to you going forwards.
  • Thanks Aurore

Found this amusing - quickly checked with OR's office what to do with the nasty letters that are starting to arrive, I'm sure there was a slight chuckle in the chaps voice when he said 'send them and we'll deal with them' :rotfl:
