    Closed, where do I find the cmd prompt? The virgin guy previously told me to enter cmd after clicking on Run before he did a ping test is this the same thing?

    some things to delete, you might also want to consider uninstalling avg and spybot, and replacing with one av package, avast or avira or microsoft security essential, to simplify your setup

    Well I've removed all the items with the exception of:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe

    C:\Program Files\BroadJump\Client Foundation\CFD.exe

    These weren't showing on the Hijack list (except for the note pad log that I posted). Presumably I can remove them myself directly off the PC but I'm not sure how to find them - please can you advise further?

    As for my PC, I'm positive I can feel a difference already, it seems that much quicker and even the noise suddenly reduced so it doesnt sound like the pc is straining like it was :T could this just be a coincidence I wonder?

    Presumably you mean MSN? If so very very occasionally.
    I've downloaded and set startuplite too so now it's fair to say our PC's future is looking (and sounding) brighter so thanks for all your help!!
