Help with refilling a HP 300 cartridge

Hi
I have just refilled a HP 300 cartridge for my printer. This printer has a ink level indicator on the printer itself, but after refilling the cartridge it still says its empty and will not print anything. my other printer uses Hp 27 and 28 but has not ink indicator on the printer and I have refilled this many times with no problems.

How do I overcome the problem with this HP 300???
Can anyone help.
Thanks

  • From what i have read its because the printer remembers the last 2 ink carts that have been in it one you add a third into it it loses the first and so on not sure on your cartidges but found these two guides maybe they might help...

I have a HP D1660. I hate the damn thing!

It suddenly told me the colour cart was empty. I know this not to be the case because carts don`t just stop printing, the quality deteriorates gradually before they are actually empty. Have read that HP program the cart to print a certain number of pages -- and then simply stop.

So I refilled -- but the printer is still telling me it`s empty and refuses to print.

I have a brand new identical printer -- sent as a replacement but I never returned the first printer.

So I connected this new printer. You guessed it. It refused to work, telling me the completely refilled cart was empty.

I cursed. I thought I`d cracked it and it would be fooled into working. So -- the use info must surely be in the cartridge...

Help! I will NOT be dictated to by HP. There MUST be a way round this. HP are making billions selling carts (mine Hp 300xl) for £25-00 each with just 8ml of ink!!!!!

    Help!!

How do you reset the cartridge or the printer...?

    My thoughts precisely!
  • Hi, dudes, I'm from Brazil and we do have the same problem here concerning some new HP cartridges. Fro printers like HP 4680, the reference is HP60, filled with a mere 3 or 4 ml, the latter for black ink.

It happens that the when exausted, sth in these cartridges make them burn, and any refill wil not print a single letter. Curiously, the same doesn't occur in The UK, where you'll find sites like ink2you that buy first hand used HPs for 2 pounds, change the foam inside them and refill 'em with the double, 8 ml.

Perhaps HP cannot do the same trick in the UK for legal reasons, and I have made a complain to the Ministry of Justice through the local D.A., once we have a Consumer's Bill very much effective that prohibits such things.

Let's see what happens, but I tell you local similar manufacturers have broken the code and are producing HP 60s (HP 300 in The UK) for much less, with much more ink, and rechargeable.

Here's the link for the British website I told you, and u can contact me if u need at luizmleitao@gmail.com Sao Paulo, Brazil. ink2you.co.uk

lots of the new HP cartridges have a chip inside and when the ink level goes down past the chip it kills the cartridge so it can't be refilled, The best way to fix it is to do what i did, Buy and epson printer and get the inks from ebay/amazon etc.

He has cartridges which do not work, keeping them won't help

Replacing them will, and if they are professionally refilled they can be sent back if there are any problems
