  • Not updated for a little while, I've not been making many OPs this month as the account isn't looking too great, so I'm trying to get us back into the black...
I am having a MAJOR declutter of the house though and listing everything on Ebay. Everything I make will be going into the mortgage

I'm having a MEGA clearout, and am listing tons on Ebay. Our house is hugely cluttered and I really need to get it sorted.
So far I've sold some cloth nappies, a childs backpack/reins and a hipseat, and made £91! :j Guess where that'll be heading :rotfl:
Am going to list some more now

I need someone to give me a good talking to. I keep going way over budget!!
We have had a lovely weekend though... Went to the Nearly New sale yesterday and spent £50, but got lots of lovely things for the boys and they were a fraction of the price we would have paid new.
Then my mum and dad came over in the afternoon and just stopped for a cuppa and a play with the boys.
This afternoon we've been to a local petting farm with my sister and brother in law, and then for Sunday lunch. Was very expensive though, over £40 for me, DH and DS1 :eek:
I need to try so much harder to stick to our budget, but just can't seem to get myself in gear. Any advice would be appreciated :o

Oh dear, sounds like next weekend needs to be a spring clean weekend! Clean all the windows, clear out the cupboards, then you'll be too busy to go out and spend anything!

Don't worry it happens to us all and you have to have some fun in life and something to look back on with the kids of fun things you did together.

Thanks - The thing is I know there are loads of free fun things we can do with the kids, but I think it's a bit of an emotional thing. When I was a kid we never really went anywhere or did anything, so I feel like I want to do loads of stuff with my little ones.
Tis stupid I know as they're too little to care, and are happy just spending time with us wherever we are. Its a hurdle I need to get over.
Also, I love buying them nice clothes and toys, but I know that by ploughing the money into the mortgage it will be better for them in the long run.
Am feeling rubbish about it all really :(

When my kids were your age, I spent a fortune on them too. It's lovely when they are so young and look so cute when you dress them up. I've found I've grown out of that and at the moment I'm getting away with clothes from supermarkets and apparently New Look is pretty trendy when you're ten. I never see anything I like in there so hopefully it will get cheaper for you. My kids do loads of activities which cost me a fortune, but that means at the weekend they are happy to amuse themselves with the tv, their toys and video games.

Well an OP of £55 today. I'm so pleased I've managed to make this, as we're not doing too well this month, but our childminder had a week off so we got the money back for that. I'm also waiting for the money to come over from the stuff I sold last week now.

I've just been adding up the OPs made in February and March...

    February was £114.51
    March so far is £247.99

Seeing it written down like this makes me see just how much these little OPs can add up. It's a total of £362.50 in 2 months whilst I'm on SMP. Wow feel like I might actually be achieving something :j:j
