I would pay someone, it would save me a load of stress, but i find this whole handing over control thing very hard.

I like to have an extremely large amount of creative input.

If i can do it myself i will, as a last and very last resort i'll pay someone.

  • I have sourced cheap sweet jars from 99p shop, a £1.69 vase from ikea and a couple of large glasses. SO far all the sweets I have bought have been from poundland or the asda and sainsbury's basics ranges. ALdi are cheap too. The important thing to look at is the prie per 100g to see how much value you are getting. Most cheaper sweets are around 50p per 100g but asda smart price foam fruits and dolly mixtures are around 18p per 100g, a great big jar filled for £1!

    My sweeties arrived today!! :j

I had bought 2 BIG "wine glasses" and 4 glass bowls from The Range, along with some kilner jars from Asda.

Sweets came in at £130 and £30 on containers so far - thought they would be enough, but need more!!

Saw some really nice "feature" pieces in my local TK Maxx this weekend starting at £9, so may have to pay them a visit at the weekend, so all in all I guess mine will have cost me £200
  • I originally budgetted £200 as i knew i needed to buy glaases etc.

I have found glasses all costing about £25 each, then theres the sweets, bags, scoops etc.

So my budget has been blown.

Im holding out on buying the glasses to seei f there is another cheaper way of doing it, i have no use for the glasses after the event so im reluctant to buy them or even hire them.

I read somewhere that £1 - £1.50 per head. But i didnt know if this was including the glasses or just the sweets.
But the bigger the glass the bigger quantity of sweets to fill it, as theres no point in having a huge glass if its only 30% full.

£25 each for glasses to put sweets in  you want go asda got mine for £1 and £2

I magaed to get 15 glasses of ebay, spent 16 hours going through every possible combination. As i knew there would be someone out there who wouldnt spell it right ou would just out selection of vases and not mention anything to do with a candy bar or sweetie buffet.

Just picked them up now, they are they giant wine glass, giant martini glass, giant brandy glass, giant slanted glass bowl, giant champagne glass, giant hurricane vase, couple of different sized fish bowls, couple of heart shaped bowls and a few cubed vases. Buying these large vases would have cost me £25 each but i got the lot for £60.

So im one very happy bride to be today.
