    Evening all

I'm not even going to post my list - all I've managed to do since Sunday is to vaguely keep on top of the dailies. I had the best intentions, but didn't manage to come home from work any earlier and it's taking us a while to get used to DS2's new routine. Nothing is likely to change before Friday - I've still got marking to do tonight and a parents' evening followed by an hour or two of planning tomorrow. It's my turn to pick DS2 up from school on Friday, though, so I'll be home nice and early - ready to collapse in a heap.

Hope you're all having a more successful week.

  • Thanks Poohbear, Tooch and everyone for your kind comments and concern. I've had a better day today. Was feeling really rubbish when got up this morning but DH whisked me off to play with a puppy all morning! We went to see a friend, I've never been there before but she has a year-old terrier which is a real live wire! We had lots of fun! Then she let out her three enormous dogs which crushed us! :rotfl: I swear I'm going to come out in bruises all over my legs! It was a good laugh though! We got thoroughly licked - I wasn't letting them lick my face but one got a sneaky lick right on my mouth! Yuck! :rotfl::rotfl: Had tons of fun and it did me lots of good. :)

I swear I am gonna kill someone in this house :mad::mad::mad:

I have just cleared 4 empty deodrant cans, a handful of used cotton buds, a bin bag of rubbish, 2 glasses, a cup and a bowl from OH's side of the bed
I feel your pain. DH is getting better but I can see two beer bottles, a bowl, plate, oh antoehr beer bottle, a glass, empty yoghurt tub, empty biscuit packet, dinner plate...just from where I am sitting! The key is to talk about how you feel about the mess - don't say: "You never tidy up.." but "could we make more effort to keep things tidy and to throw away our rubbish as I feel very upset when things are messy..." I've found that works better. And periodically reminding: "please could you put all your crockery in the kitchen before you go to bed" or "put all your rubbish in this bag and then put it in the bin please" works welll. HTH xx

    Hugs Carlsberggal

Dora I hope your husband gets a job soon

Toots I hope you are better soon

Diva I hope you get good news from the SW soon xx

Lady Liberty I hope you enjoyed your coffee with your friend xx

Hugs Poohbear, those men sound like a pain, don’t they have any work to do? Or some jobs around the house/in the garden?

Quillion, well done you! I’ve got that very same amount to lose, so am inspired by you! Actually I’m a size 26 on my bottom, but 22 on top. I’m determined to do it though! Thanks for the inspiration!

Dusty glad to hear your good news!

Pigpen, yay for DS1, GF and Jacob! That’s great news!

Sarah glad for your friend and baby Violet, what a lovely name!

Soappie hugs hunny. February is the worst month of the year, but it’s nearly over!

    Yorkie, I don’t understand what’s happened with DD2, but hope it’s ok

MEDICATION: Using a phone alarm is the best way to remember, and using one of those boxes with the day of the week on it (can’t remember what it’s called, you put Monday’s tablets in the bit marked Monday, Tuesday’s in Tuesday…) means you know if you’ve had your days tablets. Get into a routine – it’s vital. I take mine after breakfast each day, without fail. Don’t forget or you will be in trouble!

Boddy congrats on paying off your mortage part one! That’s so fab!

    Welcome newbies

Flying: DH has washed up and cooked dinner. We've been shopping and put it away. And I've done a little tidying. I'm going to do a little more tidying now as need to find Mum's Kingdom DVD's before Saturday, I think I know where they might be...
Tomorrow we have to go out late morning, but I will be doing an HHC before we go, hopefully in the bathroom.

I need to buy a rotary dryer thingie for outside as my new house has a stupid shaped garden and I can't really hang a washing line. I need some advice on what to buy and more importantly what not to buy! we are a family of 4, 2 small kids , one set of washable nappies so I do at least one load a day. My garden is a fair size but is sloping, mixture of grass and paving.

We have a biggish yard which we made prettier by decking it and putting a trellis fence from the garage to the house and there is a small lawn ("fit a tent on that postage stamp" - toxic sister comment in really snide tone), but definitely not enough room for proper line and giant rotary airer would clutter up place when we want to sit out on nice days so I have a retractable washing line on a reel (about £6 from Aldi, Morrisons or Wilkos) and some biggish hooks on trellis and fence supports, I zig zag the line out over the garden when I need it and whoosh it's reeled back in when I don't. Winter I only usually zig with no zag for one load of wm at a time. There are 5 of us. Hope it helps. Mel x

I seem to have gained a star that I didn't actually earn...?? :o

But instead of asking for it to be taken away, I am going to try to earn it! By the end of the weekend, I will try to complete one day! Should be possible, Monday is looking good (but really need to clean out the fridge!), this is what I have left:

    Level 1
    Check smoke alarms are working
    Level 2
    Level 3
Sort one area of clothes or linen storage making sure only what should be in there is, anything that's had it's day or doesn't belong there is removed
Defluff and demuck woodwork... skirtings, window frames, door frames dados, picture rails etc

oooh and where is Greenbee? Haven't seen her post for a couple of days. Hope you are ok
I'm here... I'm on a cake decorating course all week and seem to be out every evening, so things are a bit busy... should be back to normal next week although I know I have a governor services course one evening, a presentation to give in London on another evening (I really, really must get it written!) and I'm away for the next 4 weekends in a row... so things are a little hectic.

Went to see my brother & SIL this evening (and give them the two cakes I've brought home so far, so they each have one to take to work). SIL looks pregnant already (12 weeks) but my brother reckons most of it is biscuits ;). Either that or their dates are wrong

Won't be getting any stars this week, but hopefully will find time to get things back under control next week...
