    Evening.
    Just swinging in to say:

Monday - DONE (can I have a star please Toots?)

Caught some of the discussion earlier about central heating (or the lack of!) and the huge quotes people have received from British Gas. Just wondering whether you had obtained some independent quotes? A friend of mine was quoted £7k for a new boiler, thought bu**er that and got a couple of smaller local firms to quote. She had the same work done for around £3k. Still a lot of money, but... (And, apologies if you've already done this!).

We've got the plumber coming tomorrow to quote us for a new boiler...fingers crossed it isn't too expensive! I need to book two others to quote - and no, I won't be contacting British Gas....they wanted me to continue maintenance cover on a boiler that they wrote and told me they could no longer service *shrugs*. (Hope we qualify for the Govt scrappage scheme...)

Hope everyone is well...I've just spent the evening building a TV unit. DS decided to crash test the original one. How the TV (which is an old CRT one - we haven't upgraded to a flatscreen yet) didn't fall on him I will never know. It probably would have squashed him....

    Take care

There's water leaking from under my bath so i'm going to have a plumber here for at least the morning tomorrow. There's talk of taking the bath out. The bathroom is next to the kitchen so i don't know how much i'll get done in the kitchen, i'll probably just keep out of his way.

  • Hi, I am back in this week, but unlikely to start doing anything til Thursday. I am in London all day tomorrow getting my latest hospital results, and on Wednesday am taking the MIL shopping - wont take her to tescos this week though, really did me in last week and spent a couple of days in bed, and was still not good at the weekend.

Still, onwards and upwards, shall try and achieve level 1 this week. (at least I dont have to clean the oven!) Have read all the posts this week, and am very impressed with the way toots keeps up with what everyone is doing!

Evening all, have pootled round and done a few bits in the living room since coming home from work. Cant seem to get motivated on a Monday night, working for the rest of the week so will hopefully be bursting with energy when I get in tomorrow!

Thanks to Triker and Mrs B for the info re warmfront. We dont qualify unfortunately but will defintely be looking into them for a quote. We are getting some local firms to quote us as well. We found the boiler online for 1.2k (British Gas quoted 2.5k without fitting costs) and the radiators for 40.00 (BG price was 231.00 for the same ones) so there is no way we will be using them!

DD and DS love the novelty of strip washes and luckily mum and dad are close by to go there for showers - it could be worse! xxxx
