Leaving TalkTalk - how to do it?

I've just tried to go back to Sky Talk and Sky BB after 18 horrendous months with TalkTalk to be told that they can't take me straight from TalkTalk, I have to go to either BT or PO first.
This is fine for the phone part as the PO do a 30 day rolling contract option but how do I do this for BB without being locked in for another 12 mon before can move to Sky?
Has anyone else come across this problem or know how to get round it?
Surprise surprise TT didn't mention this when I joined them!

Once you have a BT telephone line again (£125 ish ), there is nothing to stop you getting broadband from who ever you like.
Your mistake was to transfer you telephone to Talk Talks network. You will be in the same situation if you do the same with Sky at some point. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Not £125.
You should be able to ask BT to take your line back "Return to Donor", when this is done you will be without broadband and will then need to apply to someone else for BB. You will then be on a 12 month contract with BT and so cannot move your line rental to anyone else until that is finished unless you pay a penalty.0
