Am I obsessed with money? No. But I work damn hard, and have worked damn hard to get where I am - I just question myself if I'd be better putting my efforts elsewhere. Lets face it most of us go to work for the money, not the fun of it.

What's so wrong with asking how someone 2 years older than me earns sixteen times more than me, with seemingly no exceptional skill (such as a Premiership footballer).

Thats just life though isnt it? I have come across loads of people over the years who have perhaps earned more than me despite having a lesser education, experience or having a less stressful job etc but its all just circumstantial. I think you should push yourself yes (and good on you for it) but in the grand scheme of things it shouldnt really matter what other people earn or have.

leeds_lad: if you are that age, earning that much and in finance, what the hell are you doing working in Yorkshire paying almost half your money to the one eyed jock when you could earn more and pay hell of a lot less tax in the Channel Islands or here in the Isle of Man where there are shortages of financial workers and all the decent FW's have gone. Unless of course you are just bragging in the hope one day you may get a job like that.
