Installing Windows - need help with Thunderbird?

Have found this under Application Data folder. After I click on the Thunderbird Folder, then Profiles Folder, there's a folder saying 4xu8jjd7.default?

When I click on this folder it brings up further folders and files? Or do I just right click on 4xu8jjd7.default folder and send to pendrive?

Yeah just save that folder to your usb drive.

Hi, have just copied that folder to the pen drive, so after I install Windows again and download Thunderbird how do I import that folder in again?

You need to download Thunderbird again..win+R type %appdata% click on Thunderbird folder...

Drag your profile from your usb drive in to the profiles folder...there`s an .ini file below the profiles folder, click on it, it will open up in notepad.

where it says path=profiles, rename it with the folder name of the profile from your thumbdrive ie path=profiles/xyz123.default.

delete other profile, start thunderbird.

When you say 'Drag your profile from your usb into the profiles folder' I'm getting abit lost. In the USB drive there's the '4xu8jjd7.default folder' then within that folder there's other folders ie. 'extensions', 'mail', 'mail.sbd', 'minidumps' then other files listed.... I ain't sure what I'm dragging across?

Just drag the whole of the 4xu8jjd7.default folder in to the profiles folder, now you should have 2.

Yeah done that, downloaded Thunderbird and went into server settings and put the folder in the local directory and it worked. Great stuff, thanks alot, is simple enough when you know how lol

PS I just noticed a folder in Thunderbird 'Local Folders' with 'Trash' and 'Outbox' subfolders, do I need that or can I delete it?

I would leave the folders, dont think you can delete them anyway.
