Installing Windows - need help with Thunderbird?

Hello guys

May I say this is a great forum and have learned quite alot from it and keep up the great work - am a newbie so go easy on me lol

I'm in the process of installing windows, have all my data backed up and not sure what to do with Thunderbird as I don't want to lose all my emails.

Before I install windows how do I copy/transfer all my emails so that I can copy them again unto my PC again into Thunderbird?

Hi Penelope, does anything in this short thread assist (it would mean importing emails from within Thunderbird to Thunderbird, but I fail to see why it should be a problem?).

Hi bustenbust, before I install windows do I not have to export the emails first from Thunderbird or save them unto a CD then import?

Yes Penelope, that would be a good idea.

Have been looking and can't see any export option in Thunderbird though?

I used Mozback up ( search Mozilla site)

Saved to a usb stick , then copied from that

Oops I was thinking of Importing from with an Import, if that makes sense - which it probably doesn't. :rotfl:. Anyone else?

Type %appdata%

thunderbird >Click on profiles, then your profile and copy it to where you want.

Tried to do this and keeps bringing up zip folder not copied.
